Elric bit his lip and shifted his weight from one foot to another. That was an incredibly stupid thing to say. Why had he said it? Because it was the first thing that had crossed his mind when he found that puddle of blood but no trace of where the body might have been dragged off. Thinking back on it, it had been an absurd idea, but it hadn't made the fact any less terrifying.
Also, absurdities were not to be completely debunked in a place like Wonderland.
"Right." Elric looked from one blond to another. What else was he supposed to say? Maybe an apology for the cage? "Sorry about... you know, Zeke." He scratched at his head. Elric really was not good at these sorts of things, and he had only just met Zeke.
"Maybe I can get you to explain those suffixes to me sometime." Zeke was the second person he had encountered who used them. It seemed odd, and maybe slightly racist to assume they were from the same language, but Elric was willing to take a shot at it.
As an afterthought he looked back to Kristopher. That question was directed at him, right? He supposed it wasn't directed at Zeke, the two had already been talking when he walked in. Lord, this was so awkward.
"I-I have been better, I suppose." His old jacket had to get scrapped after the late night incident. He wasn't about to go around wearing something drenched in blood and torn at the sleeves, even if it was his own blood. Given everything else about him, it would just add horrible levels to his reputation that he was not certain he wanted to carry. "Winter season is always rough."

Ahh, awkward turtle soup on the menu, it seemed. Zeke continued giggling until Kris shot him that look, which caused him to let out one last laugh before lowering his hand. Situations like this were fun, if only because you had two straight-mans and one clown. And Zeke knew who the clown was in this situation, very much so. Then there was that little apology that caught the azure eyed man's attention. He smiled lightly and waved the hand near his mouth. "Think nothing of it, Elric-san. I wasn't hurt."
"On the other hand, I messed your ankle up, right?" He closed his eyes and lowered his hand, placing both in his jean pockets. "I should be apologizing for that. Gomen nasai, tomodachi."
The question of suffixes did earn a blank on the smiling face. Somebody else had used them on him? Well, Zeke figured he wasn't the only Japanese fellow around, but who did Elric know? Maybe it was one of the Higurashi's. Sori seemed physically like Elric, but Motoko-chan was the introvert. Her personality seemed more like his. But what if he knew Aione?
The blank face twisted into a small sneer as soon as he was sure neither his twin or Elric was looking at him. Heaven forbid he knew her. And heaven help him if he knew her and didn't know it was her that put Kristopher in this predicament in the first place.
Zeke let the sneer fall and placed his smile back on, stepping toward the taller man and draping a noodle-like arm on his shoulder. Personal space? What's that? "Winter is rough, but at least you aren't sweating your brains out doing physical labor. I prefer spring myself." Bright sapphire eyes looked up in Elric's metallic ones. "As for suffix stuff...I managed to teach Kris, and...well, if a tack is sharp, he'd the farthest thing from it," score one for insulting the sick guy, "I'm sure I can teach you! Which dorm are you in?"
**I'm very sorry, friend.

Kristopher watched the two men with mild interest and in the end sighed softly. Elric was looking awkward the more he took note of how the man stood while Zeke just seemed to be having fun no matter what.
"Yes. Winter is rough." He agreed there but sad no more as Zeke took over the conversation, which was fine by Kris. He could never figure out what to talk to Elric about. Elric seemed like a good person, merely rough around the edges if anything. The blond looked down in thought then, Elric had always seemed a bit uneasy around the blond. He often wondered if it was because he was bisexual and liking men a bit more then he should. He supposed Elric wasn't so king on that but oh well. It wasn't like he was going to tackle and rape the man.
"Well, I wish you well then, Elric." He offered him a very small smile and looked towards Zeke. "I don't believe he likes his personal space violated, Twin. I think you are making him a bit nervous." If not both of the blonds for that matter.
Turning his gaze back to the pale man he shrugged his shoulders. "Elric." Kristopher spoke carefully, his voice moving to a serious topic now, one that needed to be touched if he ever wanted to be friend Elric.
"I wish you wouldn't be so nervous around us. Beyond popular belief, me and Zeke are decent people." A small smirk touched his lips, "He won't take you to a dark corner and do evil things to you and nor will I." A small chuckle came from his lips then, "Unless you wanted him too, but then you would piss off his girlfriend."

Zeke's speech was a potato dish peppered with sayings that might as well have been Greek or Chinese. Elric might have been able to figure out a couple sayings in a Romance language with his basic understanding of Latin, but he rarely counted on it.
And in spite of having gone toe-to-toe against Zeke in what might have become a life-or-death match, he was not nearly comfortable enough to be this close to the young man. Elric tried to sidestep to get a little more space from Zeke, but it didn't really help.
Kristopher managed to hit the nail on the head about him being nervous. Elric couldn't really explain why he was nervous, at least, not to them. Maybe he understood now why he always was skittish around people, but it was that same skittishness that would prevent him from telling them why he was that way. Piper had nearly pushed him hard enough to get some of the dirty details, but Elric had stopped a little ways away from that emotional dump.
Dealing with his emotional baggage was a personal privilege that Elric had no intention of sharing.
Elric was caught now between looking relieved and wide-eyed at Kristopher and Zeke. Kris had a point when he said that neither of them intended to take him into a dark corner and do unspeakable things to him. Elric's concern in that department would have been Anolean, who would likely do it just to mess with his head.
On the other hand, Kristopher had also managed to imply that it might happen if Elric wanted it to happen. "Just going to throw it out there, I don't like guys in that way." It seemed like bisexuality ran rampant through Wonderland at times and it was better to be safe and make sure that point was thrown down then and there.
"And maybe we can have lessons at some point. The issue is free time." Elric was now eyeing Zeke warily. He had a girlfriend, which made all this behavior even more peculiar. Gears were turning in his head. "Wait, are you straight or bi?" If he was straight, he was far more comfortable with his sexuality than Elric probably ever would be.

Yes yes yes, Zeke knew he was over-stepping the boundaries of personal-space, but did it really matter to the blond? Not at all is the correct answer. When it came to boundaries the boy had learned well from his mother...perhaps too well. She'd taught him to the inch how far to stand from a woman, from a man, from a married woman, from a married man, from a fish...maybe it was that teaching that earned him such relaxed views on space and such. But when his twin called him out on it, Zeke did remove his arm, though his hand stayed a bit longer to pat Elric on the shoulder.
Elric was a good guy, and he had a good head on his shoulder.
His mouth just needs to work on that little thing called 'timing'.
"We're decent as you can be in this place, at least," he added with a sly grin, "And I don't know how I'd get him into a corner. Elric-san looks like he can snap my arm like a twig." Zeke had to laugh at Elric's quick announcement of his sexuality. Was he really afraid one of the pretty-boy-blonde's would try anything on him? I guess some people are, some people aren't. Though the question of his own sexuality earned the pale man a head tilt. One finger went to Zeke's lips as if he were thinking the answer over...in reality, it was just a dramatic pause.
Pause over, blue eyes locked again. "I'm bisexual, and I've had relationships with men, but I'm in a monogamous relationship with a woman, so go figure." He smiled softly and closed his eyes in a rather fox-like manner. "Besides...there's no need to worry. I'm not into men with too many muscles."
And there, ladies and gents, is timing.
