The boy waited, every second pure agony as he listened to hear why she had done this, why she'd ripped his heart into a million pieces. There were of course no few than a dozen theories racing about his mind, each waiting for their chance to be revealed as truth. Some of them he could live with, be easily enough explained away and forgotten. The others...not so much. They were far more catastrophic, things that he knew he wouldn't be able to handle. She began to speak, and he carefully listened to each and every word. A few moments went by and then....the truth was out.
Kyle quite literally headdesked. His head dropped to the counter, making it reel a bit but he hardly noticed. A light chuckle began to drift through the room, distorted by his tears but laughter none the less. His shoulders were shaking again, but this time in mirth instead of despair. He was quite certain that to the others he had to look as though he'd gone completely nuts. But he hadn't, he felt normal for the first time in a long time. It took him at least five minuted to get his laughter under control but when he did he straightened, turning around with a smile on his face.
Giving Kris a knowing look and a roll of his still tear filled eyes, he moved over to Sarah. Stopping in front of her he dropped down, his arms wrapping around the girl and squeezing her tightly. "You dunce. You left because of that?" Kyle understood full well the attraction that his sister's mistress held, he'd felt it himself on more than one occasion. And he also knew that humans had little choice but to obey the whims of their master, lest they be punished swiftly and harshly. Unlike Sarah, he didn't blame her a bit for what might have happened between her and the boogie slut. He was just so happy to have her back.

Sarah felt the arms wrap around her, the pressure increasing, and she let out a small whimper as her whole body cringed. She thought for sure it was Kris about to use that knife to end the life that had brought her bothers so much grief. However, she soon realised it wasn't Kris. She recognised those arms. The way they felt against her. The way they wrapped around and squeezed her. It wasn't Kris at all. It was Kyle. The feel of his arms around her was so intoxicating. She had been aching to feel them around her again for months. It had become a physical pain, some nights. To feel them now, after having been without them for so long, was almost more than she could take. Her love for Kyle hadn't lessened at all since she'd been gone, and every ounce of it, which had been bottled up for so long, was surging through her again. She only wished that this moment would never end.
"You dunce. You left because of that?"
The words shocked Sarah, her eyes flying open. It took several moments for the full implications to sink in, but, when they did, she said, through her tears, "Y-you're n-n-not mad at m-me?" The hope in her voice was obvious, but she could hardly allow herself to believe it. She had betrayed him. Betrayed him in a way that could never be forgiven. Was he really just going to let it go like that?

Kristoper watched the two for a long moment. He turned away from them and replaced the old knife with a clean one. He was done hearing these two talk and so he went back to his job he had been given. Cooking. He reached for unfinished veggies he had been cutting before and returned to the task. The dull sounds of a knife moving through the veggies was barely heard through his siblings moment.
He sighed softly, well. At least it seemed one couple was fixed. Or so he hoped, because at any moment it could all go away and down to hell. Kris knew that very well, his own love life had been put to the blender. He understood how things could change at the snap of a finger.
But right now, seeing the two of them together made him cringe. Not because it was brother and sister embracing or because he didn't want them to get together. No, he was glad they had each other. All of this just made him miss Augusta, his own love. He missed his hugs, soft words and even the tears, which was hard to believe.
He looked at his siblings again, shook his head and returned to his job. Pushing his own matters to the side. This wasn't his time, it was theirs.

Once again he chuckled, amused by her words. Of course he wasn't mad at her, he'd have thought that much obvious. Afterall if he was mad at her then he wouldn't be hugging her, now would he? With an exasperated sigh he pulled away from her, just a bit, one hand releasing her to dig in his pocket as he stared into those beautiful emerald eyes. "What do you think?" As he spoke these words he clasped her hands, flattening it and slipping the ring he'd gotten so long ago onto her ring finger. A smile small lit his face, before he leaned in and softly kissed the lips he'd been longing to touch for what seemed an eternity.
Though he desperately wished for nothing more than to just stay like this, with Sarah, forever, he could sense that not all was right. Pulling away from her once more he turned his head, eyes sweeping the kitchen until the landed on his brother. it was easy to see the somber look on the boy's face, and he immediately know why. Their happiness was only making his own main more clear. Kyle turned back to Sarah, his eyes speaking much more than his words ever could. "Excuse me for a moment..." Rising to his feet he turned, silently making his was across the kitchen. He was less than three feet away when he pounced, knocking the knife from his brother's hand where it fell to the counter with a clatter. The two boy's on the other hand happened to land on a large sack of grain, Kyle overtop his brother and grinning like a fox in a hen house. "Cheer up emo kid."

"What do you think?"
Sarah looked at Kyle with her brow furled in confusion. Then he got up and left her to glomp Kris, leaving her to look at what he'd done with her hand. There was a ring on it, now. Sarah stared at it, her head slowly tilting to one side as she did. What the hell had just happened? One moment, she was worried one of her brother was going to knife her, and for good reason, and now she was staring at a ring that had apparently been given to her by the other brother. Needless to say, she was a tad confused. More than a tad, actually. She had absolutely no idea what was going on, or what Kyle had meant by his question. Yet, she found she couldn't stop looking at the ring. What the hell?

"Wha!" Kristopher looked up at his older brother with wide emerald eyes. Thankfully neither of them got hurt by the knife but now he was laying on his back in the grain looking shocked. His older brother was grinning as if he won some kind of prize while Kris looked like he about pissed himself. Which he didn't.
The younger brother blinked a few times as he placed his small hands on his brothers chest, gripped the shirt and then sudden started too shake him like a baby's rattle. "What the hell was that about? You could of got me hurt or you, you big moron!" He yelled, his eyes still wide but he laughed a little at the event.
"And I'm not emo damn'it! I was just trying to allow you guys to have a moment and then you go off and scare the living hell out of me by jumping!" He laughed then and shook his head before letting go of the older one and leaning back into the grain, giving up.
"Geez, you're insane."

He just laughed. It was a deep hearty laugh, the kind he hadn't had in ages. Like Kris he found what had just transpired to be pretty damn hilarious. It wasn't often that they got to cut up and screw around like this, hardly ever in fact. And so when they did it was always appreciated. "Heheh Insane? And what do you think you are? next thing i know you'll be sobbing in the corner, drawing pentagrams in the floor and glaring at little kids from under your masses of mascara." A teasing sneer popped onto his face as he poked the boy lightly in the fore head, his grin soon returning.
Out of impulse he turned his head towards Sarah, love in his eyes. Yet when he saw her sitting there, staring blankly at the ring on her finger, he couldn't help but chuckle again. Briefly he glanced down at Kris, rolling his eyes at the blond. After a moment he turned his head slightly, just enough that his voice would carry but not so far that she could tell he wasn't looking at Kris. Rather teasingly he spoke, 'accidentally' talking loud enough for Sarah to plainly hear him. "We're gonna have to teach our little sister some things Kris. Seem she doesn't even know what an engagement ring is." He smirked and chuckled once more, briefly wondering if, maybe this time, she'd get the picture.

Why was this ring one her finger? Sarah couldn't figure it out. She had come here expecting to be, at the very least, disowned and abandoned, just as she had done to them. Receiving a hug and a ring was just something she couldn't quite wrap her mind around, nice though they both were. Or, maybe not . . . . Maybe this had been their plan all along! That's it! the ring must be poisoned! . . . . Wait, how would poisoning a ring work, unless it pricked the skin. She hadn't felt anything. Sarah played with the ring a little, twisting it, then taking it off and examining the inside. She found nothing that could be used to deliver poison . . . . Then it must be magic! It was a magic ring that would kill her in her sleep! She just knew it! It had to be, it's the only thing that made sense. Not to mention exactly what she deserved.
We're gonna have to teach our little sister some things Kris. Seem she doesn't even know what an engagement ring is."
It took a few moments for that to fully sink in, as she just stared blankly at the ring. Then, her eye went as wide as they could. An . . . an engage . . . wait, wha? An . . . A . . . bu . . a . . wh . . . wait, what?!?! But . . . but she . . . how? .. . . Why? Wha? She . . what? Betrayed. . . . Abandoned . . . Engaged? But . . . wait . . . . . . . . . . WHAT?!?!?!? He hadn't even asked her anything! He just slipped it on, and . . . . wait, what?!?!?!?!?! But . . . wait, but he had asked her, in his own, Kyle-ish way. He had asked her, and given her a ring. That was his way. It always had been. Of course it was, she knew that. Plus, it made a lot more sense than her magic ring idea. Thinking back on that, she felt a little dumb. She waved it off as irrationality caused by extreme emotions. Still, Kyle had proposed. To her. His sister. His lover. The girl who had betrayed him. The girl who had left him for months, only to suddenly show up out of no where. He proposed to her. As this realisation sank in, her heat leaped with joy. He proposed! She was going to get . . . . going to get . . . . . . .
Sarah stood up, the ring still held very carefully between her finger, and walked over to where her brothers were. She came to a stop in front of them, looking at the ring for a few moments more. Then, her gaze went up to land on Kyle, and she spoke, "Kyle, my dearest love, you are everything to me. Despite everything I've done, you really are everything to me. I love you. However, I cannot accept this ring. Not yet. I cannot do this if there is even the slightest chance that there is animosity between us. I know what you're going to say, Kyle. You're going to say that you're sure about this. That you've never been more sure of anything in your life. However, your emotions are going haywire right now. I know this because mine are, too. I want to be sure, Kyle. I *have* to be sure. So, I give you back this ring. But, I give it with a message. Wait a week or two. If you still think it's what you want, if you still want me as your wife after that, then I will accept with all the love and joy in my heart. Deal?"

Kristopher moaned at his siblings and slapped a hand over his face, "Are you two seriously going to have a drama club going on, while he is sitting on me?" He dragged his hand down his face and looked at Sarah carefully. "Please, for the love of god. Take his ring, keep it while you two think. I don't want to deal with an Emo brother for the next two weeks to be honest. I have had enough of the emo going on to last me four life times."
So says the man who was slightly emo himself, but that was because he no longer had anyone to call his own. He didn't have Augusta like Kyle now had Sarah. Life was never easy was it? However he chuckled slightly, "But I am glad you two are on...even terms...or so I hope or else I won't know what to do anymore."
And that was the truth!

Talk about a buzz kill. Kyle's good mood was immediately destroyed, the depression quickly moving back in to refill the void. He barely heard her words, all he was aware of was that she was turning him away. That had always been his greatest fear, ever since he'd first decided on this. To have it come true now, when he'd jsut found her again, was almost more than he could take. It was all he could do to remain calm, to sort through her words and select the proper smartassed reply.
He locked his gaze with hers, staring into her beautiful emerald eyes unwaveringly. "Sarah, I am not going haywire, and I don't need time to think about it. I've been thinking about nothing else for months. You've known me your entire life and when, in all that time, have I ever changed my mind about anything? Never, and I'm certainly not about to start now." For a few moments he paused, his next decion obviously taking great effort. But he soon gave her a sad smirk, taking her hand in his. "If it was my method then here, I'll do it right." He slowly kneeled, his eyes never leaving hers as he lowered himself to the floor. This was clearly a momentous event, Kyle actually doing something the way it was supposed to be done. Such a thing never happened, but he felt that now might be a time worth making an exception. "Sarah Roberts, will you marry my sorry ass?"Alright, so not an entire exception, but an exception nonetheless. Not great but, meh.

And there he was, knelt before her, formally proposing to her. Sarah didn't know what to make of it. Months? He'd been thinking about this for months? The months she was gone? Really? All the time she'd been gone, Kyle had been thinking of proposing? Even after being abandoned, he still had wanted to marry her? And, now, she was back, and the first thing he did, as soon as the opportunity presented itself, he put a ring on her finger. A ring. A symbol of infinity. Of eternity. Of forever.
"Sarah Roberts, will you marry my sorry ass?"
Heh. Kyle. Even in a moment like this, he was still . . . well, Kyle. It was amazing. He hadn't changed a bit. Amazing and wonderful. She wouldn't have him any other way. She loved the boy so much. She chuckled a bit as she started crying again. Not from sadness, this time, but from joy. She got on her knees as well, holding his hands as he was holding hers. She looked him in the eye, and, with all the love and joy in her heart, she said, "Yes."

Kyle was ecstatic. He could hardly believe it. He was getting married. It didn't bother him in the least that he was getting married to his baby sister, that had never been an issue. Afterall, they'd been together all their lives, it was only natural that they should stay together. He loved her far more than he could have ever loved anyone else, far more than anyone else could have ever loved her. And right now he was so happy that he couldn't even think let alone speak. All he could do was wrap his arms around her, squeezing her tightly against him.
For several minutes he held her, completely lost in the feeling of her body against his, the love coursing through his body. But after a while he came to the realization that he'd completely forgotten Kris amidst all of this. Pulling away from her a bit he kissed her, a short and lingering kiss that in its brevity held the promise of more to come. Staring into her eyes lovingly he just smiled at her.
Then he moved away from her, grinning widely as he moved over and wrapped his good arm around Kris' shoulder. "Now all thats left is for you and Frenchy to stop being such babies." Raising the hand he ruffled Kris' hair, smirking at him good naturedly. "If you two hurry up then we can even make it a double wedding. That'd be something else eh?" He chuckled, though he meant every word of it. And right now he was pretty sure Sarah was staring at him in disbelief. Ah well, he never was predictable.
