Either way there was probably some form of a mutual understanding between the two. Whatever some peculiar bond they had, it was there and it existed regardless of what Naelona or anyone else might insist. Perhaps were she not so callous, Naelona might have said so as well. But for what anyone knew, she would never show such a thing in a million years, it was just something that had to be read between the lines.
Naelona felt strangely bared by the blond's look, startled as he may be. It was true, the boogie had worried about him, and kept her searching for him to the point she about landed herself in some trouble - well - trouble were she a human. But it was still a worry, a concern, even if she had long forgotten what those feelings were. It did mean something indeed.
Resting against the boy the soft thumping of his heart sounded rhythmically in her ear. His voice when he spoke resonated within his hollow chest, which seemed to match with as thin and frail as he appeared from the outside. "If you mean liking you or enjoying your company, Then yes. Yes, I am fond of you Naelona. It is one of the reasons I want to be your slave again and to stay that way." Nestled into his chest the boogie sighed, watching the fire. Even how he spoke was different. Calming.. in a strange way.. but.. very strange and Naelona wasn't entirely sure what to make of it. But she wasn't about to move either.
"I still don't believe I understand what fond means.." Some sickness of the mind, perhaps. But it didn't seem to be of quite that variety. If 'fondness' were an illness the two she at least knew afflicted with it didn't seem ill. There were other, more serious illnesses that afflicted much of the populace. Females seemed more apt to it than others, it was part why Naelona kept no female slaves, but still she'd found no distinct cause, nor cure. But 'fond' was something else. What she wasn't sure, but it had her curiosity.
"So.. you want to stay around me because you enjoy my company, Kristopher?" Naelona asked. "That is the meaning of fond? I've been told my presence is cold. Frigid." She shifted slightly against him, tilting her head to peer up at the slave, sounding a bit weak. "Why do you think otherwise, Kristopher Roberts?"
