It was a bright and sunny day, the market was flourishing with life. If didn’t have to be the particularly happy kind of life, but it was life, sort of. Slaves were taking care of chores, and doing as they told, today, everyday. It made poor Luke sick to watch, they were lower then dogs. Of course it wasn’t in everyone’s interest to die fighting.
The young man was chilling minding his own. As he sat free, on top of the roof of one of the larger shops. He yawned and stretched his arms out to the sides then let his hands rest on the warm roof under him. He’d already hit a few shops, grinning he pulled a juicy red apple out of his ‘bag of goodies’ that he rarely shared with people. Pulled out his hunting knife he’d been able to hang on to since he got to this hell. And cut him out a slice and poked it into his mouth. Munching away. As happy as he could be, at least in this sort of place. He rested his arm on his knee and watched the people below.
Clewing and wiping his mouth ever so often he just watched them, humans doing dirty work, some were a little more ‘well off’ then others some Boogies claimed to be ‘good’ that made him laugh, Boogies were more like the Grim Brother’s versions of the tall tales he read before. Or maybe they could be better related to the seven deadly sins, to Luke they were all the same, hungry, lustful, violent creatures who needed to be bumped down a few notches in the food chain. Though thinking about that, the thought of what a Boogie might taste like made him shudder.
Now bored he put his knife away, watching he noticed a boogie and another kid getting into it. Darn beast. Luke twisted his arm back then with a fling the apple core hit the Boogie in the back of the head. Luke huffed most likely he wouldn’t be lucky enough for the Boogie to be knocked out, but it did confuse the beast causing him to stop and look around.
Rolling his green eyes Luke laid back on the roof in the soon and sucked in a deep relaxing breath. Arms folded behind his head he watched the clouds go by, he was never to be tamed by one of them, he would die fighting, that’s just how it was going to be. He was as free as one can be here, and that was that.
