The heels of her boots sank into the ground slightly as she walked. Bright eyes examined the various plants that surrounded her. It was beautiful here, she would have to come here more often. What appeared to be a dark shadow followed her, but she was aware of it and it didn't bother her. She hadn't felt like bringing her guitar here and so Umbra had left the instrument so that he could be with her as she walked through the Garden.
"This place is weird," Umbra muttered.
"I hope you're not scared, dear," Estella giggled.
Umbra feel silent, as he normally did when she teased him and she clasped her hands behind her back and skipped onward, deeper into the garden. It might be fun to lead a human in here some day. Estella could picture it now. Tempting them in, telling them not to be afraid even though she knew a lot of the things in here were extremely dangerous. She wouldn't let them die of course, she didn't hate humans that much and she'd rather them live with their nightmares of almost being consumed by a plant.
"Umbra, we need to have some fun soon," she said with a frown. "I mean...I'm so bored! There's got to be someone around to entertain me."
"Oh yes, because everyone hangs out in this place. It's the spot to be in," Umbra replied.
"Don't get smart with me ," Estella warned. "I'll kick your shadowy butt into next week if you do."
Umbra muttered something about it being common sense that she'd chosen the wrong place to find company but Estella ignored him and continued to study the plants around her. At least it was a pretty spot, she wouldn't walk away from this experience with only negative thoughts.

Poor little plants... The light was there only source of life. The ground around them was even dying as they sacrificed their every nutrient to lengthen the inevitable death of these growing flowers and fungi. A gentle hand was stroking the crimson pedals of a plant that was eating a small rodent that had scampered in it's range. Needless to say, the carnivorous thing was too busy eating to do anything but enjoy the rare caress of the friendly hand. "Ohhh..." Garland cooed, smiling as the small mouse was being eaten, squealing it's last breaths of life. This was a natural death in it's prime! Plant versus animals! The plants usually won, when it came down to it. "Yes, lovely, continue to the cycle of death..."
Garland Von Clossen stood up, tilting his head, still admiring the dying mammal, before turning his head. Voices? Oooh! Were there talking plants now?! This idea pleased Garland greatly. But no... A woman and a...thing came down the path instead. Grinning, Garland moved behind an evil looking bush before being spotted. What did the death-loving boogie have in store? Nothing too mean... Besides, he'd heard this worked on humans. Why not on boogies? But he'd need some help... And quick! Dole was known to be the fastest, so the Puppeteer grinned and chuckled to himself as he raised his arms, fingers cocking at angles, like strings were controlling the puppet as if it were in front of him. "Come, Dole... This will be fun!" Garland whispered, his fingers moving in masterful motions, commanding the puppet in the Palace to come to life and begin running very quickly down the hallways. The Master needed him, and so he would come. A few poor children would be baffled all day as the mechanized doll rushed past.
Timing was everything... Garland only hoped Dole would be here soon enough! Been a while since Garland had a good laugh...

Estella paused to take a look at an interesting flower that was swaying even though there wasn't a breeze. This place was rather enjoyable. Even if there weren't many Boogies or humans around, Estella had a feeling that these plants would be adequate company. Sure they didn't seem to be able to talk, but she was so talkative that that notion hardly mattered to her. Besides, this way she wouldn't have to listen to any other opinion rather than her own...and Umbra's, but she hardly listened to him anyway and he rarely extended the same courtesy to her so that wasn't a problem.
Umbra floated up, the shapeless shadow changing into the form of a rat and settling on the wide brim of her hat. "Lazy," she teased and Umbra only chuckled. Estella let her blue eyes take in more of the scenery. If this was a normal garden she might just take a nap in here, but she knew that was a terrible idea and she noticed that some of the plants seemed to be watching her. There was an air of expectancy that she wasn't sure she completely understood.
"Is it me or does it seem too quiet here?" Umbra asked.
Estella did feel that way, but she wasn't about to tell Umbra that. She raised a brow and glanced at the brim of her hat. "Do you want me to start yelling to bring some noise in here?" she asked.
"Oh sure, don't listen to me," Umbra grumbled.
"Oh relax," Estella chastised. "What's the worse that could happen except for me tripping on a root or something?"

Garland couldn't help but grin, his rigid fingers controlling his toy as he felt it grow nearer and nearer... The timing would be glorious indeed! Dropping his hands, he knew that Dole would be able to navigate the gardens on his own. And sure enough, as he thought this, the doll crashed through the nearest plant, which in turn tried to bite the puppet. But the quick mechanism escaped, landing promptly in the path of the other boogie. It swayed for a moment, before standing up straight, looking at the female without regard. Silence fell,m or near silence as the internal gears and clockwork machinery within Dole's chest cavity clicked away, coming to life by Garland's will. It did nothing but stand there, the occasional twitch in it's body making it totally unhuman.
Garland Von Clossen had taken the time to slip away from his bush, moving away and behind Estella. Oh man... This was going to be funny! At least to Garland. Estella may avoid him from now on as this practical joke was put into effect. Now in a different bush, one that would not eat Garland, he waited to see how Estella would react to the puppet as it stood, jerking about, twitching. But if she would try to just move around it, despite all curiosity, Dole would move quickly in front of her, give a sharp click, and continue being semi-idle.

She heard it before she saw it. Just a rushing sound of something approaching and her blue eyes narrowed as she turned around. Nothing there...when she turned back, however, there was something. A...puppet? Was that what that thing was? Estella stared at for along time as it twitched and stood there, seeming to stare right back.
"Ok...what the hell?" she squealed. "Umbra what is that thing?" she asked.
"Uhhh Garden Keeper?" Umbra guessed.
Silence as she stared at it some more, getting no reaction from it except for those disconcerting twitches. Estella shuddered. "It's soooo creepy! Is it alive? What does it want?" she demanded.
"I don't know! Maybe you should touch it?"
"Ewww no way! YOU touch it! You're the frickin shadow!" Estella whined.
She felt Umbra curl in on himself on her hat and she glared at the brim again and reached up, prodding the odd demon. "Come on, be a man!"
"Don't compare me to a man! Why don't we just go around it? It hasn't moved at all so maybe it's just uh decoration..."
"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea," Estella conceded.
She took a step to the left to move by it but the weird puppet simply matched her movement, blocking the path. Estella shrieked and took a few steps back as it went back to standing and twitching. "Ew, ew, ew!! Umbra what do we do?!" she asked loudly. When her familiar was silent, Estella let out an irritated growl and snatched her hat from her head. Umbra had assumed the shape of a moth. "You're so useless!" she snarled, shaking him off and jamming the hat on her head again. "All right, creepy thing, what the hell do you want? You're ruining my day!"

Garden Keeper? Ha! ...Though, that was a cool title... Anyways, Garland had a prank to pull. The puppet's arms shot forward, like a zombie, and the thing began moving forward. Creaking and clicking as it's slow progress toward Estella and her companion. This would probably ruin the boogie's day much more, as it twitched, stepped and creaked in a lurching fashion, much like a ghoul. Snickering, Garland watched from his safety bush. A nice bush... One that would be his friend? ...No, this one didn't eat things. A bad bush, then...
But oh! It would be his part soon! Sticking his leg out from the foliage, Garland Von Clossen waited, peering to see if the girl would actually run. If she did... well, she would have a nice [trip[/i]! Garland had learned this from a small slave boy, watching him trip another, both laughing about it. But then again, Garland didn't have many relationships where both sides laughed. ...hm... Perhaps this would start a brand new type of friendship that would sore into the wonderful afterlife and beyond! ...or not. Would he stay the same in the afterlife? Was there an afterlife...? At this, he lost focus of what Estella and Umbra were doing, his mind going on a fast-paced questionnaire of life, universe, and everything else in-between. And this is not an odd thing for Garland. For having lived almost thirty millennium, this wasn't the first time a conundrum had stopped his actions. Once he was in the middle of eating and frozen, face hard in thinking as the forkful of meat hung in the air for two hours. When he returned to himself, he ate the cold meat, getting an awful surprise.

Estella knew that she probably should just go, that there some things in Wonderland that she shouldn't even bother trying to explain and this creepy puppet was one of those things. She could live without going further into the garden, she was more suited to the music lounge anyway where she could rock her heart out without the fear of something interrupting her. At least, nothing like this. She took another careful step back and that's when it happened. The thing started moving towards her. Estella let out a shriek and, with Umbra clinging to her shoulder, she turned and sprinted away from it.
She didn't remember there being a root right there, but apparently there was, for Estella tripped over something solid and the next thing she knew she was face first in the grass. It was just like those horrible horror movies humans were so enthralled with! Why did she HAVE to trip now?!?! She sat up and scrambled away when she looked behind her to realize exactly what she had tripped on. Was that....a leg?!?! Fury outweighing fear, Estella stood up and stormed over to where the perpetrator was and moved aside the bushes.
Sure enough there was a figure there and everything clicked. It was all his fault! Her shoulders tensing as she fought for control of her words so she wouldn't just scream, Estella balled her hands into fists and glared at the other Boogie. "WHAT THE HELL?!" okay, so she didn't totally avoid screaming, but at least she had articulated words.
