The child lay helpless as the boogie stood over her, mouth open and drooling. "I will eat ya, me sweet!" He chortled, clawed hands clacking together as he twiddled his fingers. "I'll bite yer toes off first, then yer fingers, then yer arms...!" He cackled softly, a hand reaching out for the girl... She screamed, her wail piercing through the quiet hallway, only to be interrupted by a surprised grunt from the being. A chain had wrapped around his wrist, holding it away from the girl.
Standing behind him, Theon stood in place, eyes alight with anger and a hint of a noble air about him. "I would suggest," Theon said in a low, slow voice, power dripping from his every word as his mighty arm held the boogie's arm paralyzed, the eyes holding the rest of his body. "That you walk away now. Quickly." With a sharp movement, the chain unraveled from the scaly wrist, returning gracefully to Theon's grasp. There was a tense moment where the boogie thought of striking Theon, and all three knew this. The girl whimpered, drawing both of their attention. Lashing out, the boogie tried to grab the girl and flee from this hor-
Too late. Theon had saw the thought in the being's eyes before the arm even twitched. Lunging faster than the eye could keep track of, he caught the arm, broke it clean off the being, and clubbed him in the face with it. The boogie stood no chance and promptly passed out from a combination of surprise, pain, and being clubbed in the head. Dropping the limb, Theon held a sweet smile, the girl running to his open arms. Picking up the girl, he cradled the sobbing human, swaying back and forth.
"It's alright, my precious," He whispered, eyes closed as he allowed the girl to let all her worries from today and her past weep into his shoulder. Hell, she'd probably seen worse days than this. So the angel-like boogie stood there, swaying, his armor clinking gently as his weight shifted. Though, from far off, most could see this as Theon digging his flesh into the girl's neck, beginning his own feast. And if not, the imagination could throw worse thoughts into the mind of a passerby. Since when did boogie's cradle children like that? Obviously something was up.
