[/blockquote]What would Hogwarts be like if Harry Potter…never existed? What if the boy who lived was instead a certain Neville Longbottom? Well, each story is different, and this is the way that our tale unfolds….
Many things remained much the same, though with far fewer incidences happening to disrupt the lives of the wizarding community. Lord Voldemort did indeed make his return to power, gathering the Death Eaters to his side and taking control of the Ministry of Magic. However this time he was stopped, not by a single individual, but by the combined efforts of all the member of the Order of the Phoenix. Though there were great losses, many of these were incurred by the Dark Lord’s supporters. Those that were not killed during the climactic battle of the Ministry were rounded up or ‘mysteriously vanished’ after the Ministry was restored, the Aurors and Ministry hit wizards beginning a fevered hunt for any members that might escape. The Order did not escape unscathed however, several members being killed or wounded. And somewhere in all the madness following the Minsitry’s fall and recovery, Percy Weasley had vanished entirely.
In the years after many of the former members of the Order of the Phoenix married and started families. Now they are living peacefully in the long peace that followed. Hogwarts itself saw many changes, most of its proffessors and staff retiring, and headmaster Albus Dumbledore passing peacefully in his sleep. The next year Lily Black replaced him as Headmistress, vacating her position as the Charms Professor. In the outside world, the now prestigious Weasly family had much to celebrate. Ron achieved his dream of becoming Keeper and Captain of the Chudley Canons, Ginny became a Quidditch reporter, and there were many, many new additions to the family. But perhaps the biggest relief to them came in the return of Percy Weasly, mysteriously showing up at his parent’s doorstep with seemingly no memory of his time away.
However, peace never lasts. In recent years, there have been many strange disappearances amongst the wizarding community. The oddest thing is that none of these people are ever found, and there are never more than a handful at a time. Percy has again withdrawn from his family, having little to no contact with any of his relatives. Rumors abound once more, dark whispering not heard since the days of Lord Voldemort. There has also been an increase in the number of muggle incidents, and magical beasts and beings alike are beginning to stir in resentment. Could these be signs of dark times to come…? Or is everyone simply Caught Up in the Moment…?
