Everything has changed. What was is little more than a fading memory, a shadow that once loomed over our future. What is now torments those of us who survived it all. That massacre. The bloody battles of betrayal. The heartstrings of the earth have begun to cry out in hollow pain at being strung too tightly. Our world, though once chaotic by nature, unpredictable and yet still beautiful in its uncertainty, is now some sort of strange, ordered chaos. We have been cloaked by a darkness too thick to escape.
The world has entered a great upheaval. Two great warlords have risen from among the demon kind, and they have destroyed and plundered, taking for themselves the lands of the forefathers of every creature not their own. Naraku, retainer of the nearly whole Shikon Jewel, is no longer a true threat, paling in comparison to the might of these lords. They have rejected the lower demons (those without human form), keeping them no more than servants. Their armies ride demon horses, taken from their families and bred like simple animals to satisfy the power-hungry lords. Humans have been turned into slaves. Those who have not been captured live quietly, trying not to be noticed. Inuyasha and his companions have been separated for near a month, and the well to return to the modern era has been destroyed through numerous battles.
