The main entrance of the grand palace of the powerful boogies was quiet, the sun shining today, a break from the gloom of winter. All was peaceful on this beautiful day, save for the harsh wind howling outside the stone walls. Most would be crazy to go outside to brave the harsh tempest. Even Garland had decided to stay in today. But where was he? Three children ran into the room, giggling and eyes darting around. It was a game! the boogie had initiated it, even telling the children not to worry about the chores they were supposed to be doing. Garland would take care of the littles ones, out of the harm of their more-than-likely pissed off masters. But who cared?! It was hide 'n' seek time!
Two boys and a girl, all roughly the age of nine, scattered into the main entrance, looking behind drapes, doors, pillars, anything! The ambitious boys ran up the double steps, to check from above while the girl began looking with the eye of a hawk, trying to spot any anomaly that could be used as a hiding spot. After a few minutes of this, she pouted, thinking that Garland may not be there after all. Calling to her companions, they left through the other side, continuing their hunt for the elusive Von Clossen.
Looking from his perch in the gently swaying chandelier, the boogie smirked. Ha! Having been around the castle for centuries had given him the distinct advantage of hiding and seeking: No one ever checks to look straight up! And therefore, he would win! Sure, he's been found a few times, but that was long, long ago... Chuckling quietly, he turned onto his back, resting precariously on the hanging lights. "Ah..." Garland sighed, closing his eyes and placing his hands behind his head. "And now we see if they can break the record of finding me," The boogie said softly, one leg crossed over the other, the hanging foot moving up and down to an unheard but steady beat. Perhaps no one at all would see him up here!

The front door was very heavy, and it was very hard for the girl to tell if anyone was out and about right now. It was mid-dayish and she was taking a huge risk not waiting for nightfall, but based on the information Luke had given her, this would be the best time to strike. That this was when the Boogies were the laziest, sending out the human slaves to do their work for them while they lazed around and grew fat. But Lavender managed, she had too, she needed to get supplies for the two of them. The girl had been new to the area to begin with, so he took the market while she took the house. Seemed like a very poorly made plan… but since she was new and good at acting, she could pretend to be running an errand. None of the regular slaves would know her, not that they asked questions of new people anyway, so she could easily slip in and get supplies without being caught. She knew the way back to their little hut so Luke wasn’t going to wait for her.
Lavender looked from side to side, she was also one of those that didn’t ever look up even though she should, though she look up towards the stairs, making sure no one was coming down them. ’Oh hurry! the girl was afraid of this place. The last time she had been anywhere near here she had been attacked by a bear/man/thing. Who knew how many of those things were around?
She slunk around a bit, worrying a hole in her lip with her teeth. She had managed to keep her teeth and clothing clean, she refused to let her hygiene lack because this place had stolen her, but her attire did appear a little worn and haggard. The newcomer walked quickly across the entrance area, she couldn’t shake the feeling that she was being watched… and this made her very, very nervous.

Garland heard the moan and groan of the heavy doors moving. Huh... That was odd. The doors shouldn't be moving on their own. Though, there used to be a boogie that would possess them and open and close them all the time. But she died. Ironically, she was slammed in between those very doors. Ah... But that was long ago. ...Why was he remembering about the door boogie? Oh! Right! turning over, the chandelier shaking and rattling slightly. There was something else bothering him... In the back of his mind... It probably wasn't important... But, he did mentally call for one of his puppets, as he felt that was the right thing to do. It would be here shortly. Looking down, he saw that there was a girl. She looked very afraid. Why? Very odd... Obviosuly she wasn't playing hide and seek. Best to see why she was nervous. "OOOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYY!" Garland called, cupping his hands around his lips to direct the call more toward Lavender. "You okay, precious child? You seem very afraid and quiet! Are you in trouble?" Now, to most, that would be a poor way to help keep someone out of trouble, but Garland could help if that was the case. But no... There was a different look in her eye. Not the direct fear of the imminent boogie that was chasing her, but the possible fear that a wrath far worse would befall her.
The chandelier's holdings strained from the movement, almost at it's breaking point. In a fluid motion, Garland stood up, looking down at the human scurrying about. Which was a poor move, as the ancient metal was about to give after the years and years of Garland using this hiding spot. It would give way soon, unless the boogie hopped off or a blacksmith re-tempered the metals. But the first was much more likely.

Lavender looked around all around her in alarm before she thought to look up. Luke was right, she should never fail to be surprised, they were everywhere around here. His yelling would probably attract more boogies, she had to act fact. And act fast she did. Once she managed to take her eyes off the monster hanging from the ceiling she ran. She was as far from the door as she could have been without going into an antechamber or another room, and she didn’t know how fast ting individual was, she only hoped that he wouldn’t catch her before she managed to get the door back open.
And so she ran, terror evident on her face.
Poor Lavender didn’t know what to do. What if he caught her? Would they somehow be able to take the information of where she and Luke had been hiding from her mind? Lavender imagined all the horrors that could happen to her, none of them pleasant. There were so many things one of these monsters could do to one lonely lost girl. Why would he be up in the chandelier anyway? Lurking and sneaking? Keeping his eye open for any soul he could claim as his victim? Luke’s stories had certainly done a number on her imagination.
