Quite a few things actually…
Appearance:
Alphainas always dresses in a stately manner, or perhaps as stately as he can get. Really the only things of any value about his attire are the wide bits of metal that adorn waist and collar. Most often he can be seen in a full-body trench coat, black with white lining around the outer edges. Across his shoulders is a small traveling cloak of the same deign. Below he generally wears nothing more than a pair of leather pants and his boots.
More than once he’s been accused of having a womanly appearance. His face is pale and fine featured, the gray eyes a perfect accent. Long white hair extends below his waist when allowed to hang free, which is why he most often ties it up in a high ponytail. His body is thin and notably lacking in muscle mass of almost any variety; clearly marking him as someone who was obviously not a fighter in any way.
Personality:
Alphainas is by nature a nervous individual. He’s the type to steer away from any dark space and to jump out of his skin at every sudden noise or movement. Because of this he goes out of his way to avoid any and all conflict, something that’s rather hard considering he’s born of a race that thrives on it. When he’s forced into one he always seeks the option that provides the quickest and safest exit, carrying on the fight no longer than is absolutely necessary. In addition he is exceedingly superstitious; more than once he’s been seen to travel completely around the palace just because there was a black kitten on the front step.
Perhaps his most defining characteristic however, is his complete and utter lack of self confidence. No matter what he tries to do he always ends up botching it in some way, or at least he thinks so. This belief leads him to automatically predict the failure of his attempts even before he tries. He has absolutely no idea that it is this complete and utter lack of confidence that is the cause of so many things failing to go as he’d planned.

[/color]Father: Unknown
Mother: Lilinesca Vanurias-Deceased
Siblings:
Cainath Abellio - Older Brother
Setanus Evalia - Younger Sister
Familiar: Gabriailless; a ferret that he swears talks when he’s not paying attention to her.
History:
Alphainas was born the second son of a mother who had no husband; at least none that he had ever heard her speak of. He was born a frail and sickly child, and few expected him to live. Chief among these was his elder brother, a young man who valued power above all else; and in those days of constant conflict, power meant being the strongest, something that the tiny infant clearly wasn’t. His mother was the only one who saw any worth in him, and through careful use of her talent was able to see him through to the point where he could safely be left to his own self.
His formative years were most often spent cooped up inside, helping his mother with whatever he could. Unlike his brother who was at times boisterous and outgoing, others cold and unfeeling, he was at all times reserved. He never could keep track of how many nights Cainath came in, boasting about how many boogies he had killed in battle or how many humans he had slaughtered for the fun of it. Nor could he keep track of the nights the man stalked in, shaking the small house to its core as he slammed door after door before finally secluding himself within his own quarters. Alphainas himself had no desire to go out and participate in the great wars that were constantly reshaping Wonderland; nor to take part in the mindless slaughter that was constantly going on outside the walls of his home. It was enough for him to simply mind the house, even though he could literally feel how much his brother despised him for it.
He was a scant few centuries of age when his mother finally wed, marrying a wealthy man who had made quite a profit selling weapons to the other boogies. Alphainas never really approved of the man, nor did Cainath. Although their reasons were separate and different, each had a deep mistrust of the man. However he was soon blinded to his feelings when their marriage produced a daughter, Alphainas quickly falling head over heels for the tiny child. He absolutely adored the little girl, and from that point on completely stopped his household duties to care for her, something that only made his brother dislike him more. Cainath had little use for females, seeing them as something not as physically powerful as he and therefore inferior to himself. The fact that she was the man’s offspring only deepened his already intense dislike of her.
It was several decades before anything to prove the men’s fears occurred. Cainath had found Alphainas and Setanus while they were out playing together and had gruffly ordered them to come home with him. When they arrived they were greeted by the sight of their mother being beaten by her husband. Immediately Cainath and even Alphainas flew into a rage. The younger brother rushed to help his mother but was roughly shoved aside by his elder, painfully slamming into the wall. Setanus worriedly ran over to make sure he was alright, reaching him just as their brother reached the man. They watched in dismayed horror as he brutally eviscerated the boogie with absolutely no effort; the blood and organs splattering the walls around them. Setanus accidentally cried out at the sight of her father’s brutal death inadvertently releasing the feelings Cainath had been blocking away; the seals on them weakened by his rage. He turned on Setanus and attacked her, mortally wounding the young girl. In a rush of fury Alphainas leapt at him and slammed his fist into his brother’s face. The older man, startled by such an action from his frail little brother, was too stunned to react for a moment. However when he regained his composure he merely snarled; shoving his hand through his younger siblings abdomen, and leaving him a bloody heap on the floor. Turning away he went and gathered his things; already intent on leaving. When he returned however, it was to find his mother knelt beside his siblings, her talent fully at work healing her fallen children. Flying into a rage once more he again attacked, this time killing Lilinesca. Just as he was about to finish the other two Setanus activated her talent, sending the man flying through the wall and into the next room. Helping Alphainas to his feet they stumbled out, fully intent on putting as much distance as possible between themselves and their crazed brother.
They traveled for some time before they finally found a safe haven they could call home, safely away from any who might know them. There they settled and lived for countless centuries, both purely content with the others company. Over time they came to possess a few humans, children that Setanus had came upon in the human world and found a liking to. Honestly Alphainas never had much taste for such dealing; the human world was simply too perilous and too much like his own for him to care about going there. No, he was fully content with what he had and never sought to acquire more.
Many millenia had passed before they caught word of a grand palace being built, carried alongside rumors of a governing body that was forming in the aftermath of the barbaric ages of Wonderland. As always Alphainas cared essentially nothing for any of it; so far as he was concerned they were rumors and nothing more. However Setanus was deeply interested in these tales of a council of boogies to oversee all the rest of Wonderland. For what seemed centuries to the absentminded boogie she pleaded with him to take her to this palace, to at least see if the rumors were true. In the end he was forced to relent, much to her joy. He didn’t tell her, but the only reason he agreed was because he knew that she would go with or without him; and there was no way he was going to let her go alone.
When they arrived, much to his dismay and eternal disappointment, it was to find all of the rumors true. A towering palace had been constructed, next to it a massive labyrinth and a small village. Inside there was indeed a group of aristocratic boogies joining together in an attempt to bring the rest of their race in line. Alphainas saw it as only a foolish attempt to subjugate all the others; while Setanus saw it as a just convening of minds to better Wonderland for all boogie kind. Though they held little prestige, she was soon accepted into the boogies’ ranks; meaning that the palace became their new home. From that time on into the present they lived there, mostly contentedly, although Setanus’ duties frequently kept her away. However about fifty or so years ago she vanished from the palace for over a year, prompting Alphainas to leave as well in search of her.
