Appearance:
Bip is commonly seen in shirts varying in color, but never in length. The shirts of older boys and girls hang over his tiny shoulders, giving him a baggy look and sleeves that go well past his hands. The boy has no color preference, just very bright or grays and blacks. The former is more common, reflecting his personality. Under neath the hoodie the boy usually has a simple shirt, usually white with the darker shirts and a more different white for the brights, though they are actually the same.
The rest of his body is usually only covered in a pair of shorts, never going past his knees. Though, this part of the wardrobe is probably the least important in most situations as the shirt goes past his waist, no shorter than mid thigh. But during a climb it is very welcomed! Bip, with his free spirit, never wears shoes, his small feet tough enough to help him tread the halls of the palace. His multicolored hair is long and shaggy, usually covering at least one eye at a time, yet this doesn't slow the energetic kid down.
Personality:
Bip is the sort of child that is happy almost every waking moment and enjoying life to the fullest. His innocence could possibly get others into an awkward situation, but the boy could care less about that in his pursuit for knowledge in this strange world around him.
Save for a terrifying encounter, the boy's joy could be considered contagious, at least to those that still have hope. His attitude towards humans and boogies is hard to distinguish, as most boogies look like humans anyways. How is he supposed to know? Both will receive an equal dose of unadulterated optimism, whether they like it or not.

History:
Young Barnabas, though he had no name at the time, was left in a basket in a park in a city of which he would never learn the name. Out in the rain and crying, the poor child to fend for itself, only a few months old. In the stormy night a dark figure came up to the basket, holding an umbrella over the two of them. The kind man smiled down at the baby, his purple eyes filled with sympathy. "Come now, human," He said softly, bending down and picking up the basket and the now quiet child, save for a grunt or two. Some of Bip's earliest memories of from that night, but the one that sticks out the most is the image of a tall, slender man, a skin a dark hint of blue and pointed ears. Bip would consider this man his guardian angel, as he took the basket and placed it on the stoop of an orphanage.
Of course they took him in and raised him along with the other children. It was an elderly couple, their last name Wilkson. Those that were left at the stoop, which wasn't common but far from rare, simply adopted their last name. The first name came from the elderly man, whose grandfather's name was Barnabas. And he grew older, he came to dislike the name, and through a long campaign convinced the others to call him 'Bip', a noise he made when exploring the house or sneaking about when he was younger. The years went on, Bip becoming more and more bold, pushing the limits to the rules, but never enough to make any of the adults too angry.
One night, after all were in bed, Bip was lying in his bed, starring up at the ceiling. He was not the least bit tired! And as soon as that thought crossed his mind, his belly rumbled. He wasn't asupposed to go out of his room at night, but just this once wouldn't hurt. Silently sliding out from underneath the safety of his covers, Bip tip-toed downstairs and into the kitchen. He paused right in front of the refrigerator, feeling as if he wasn't alone. Turning, he was face to face with a being that felt familiar. It was almost like his guardian angel... But not quite the same. Shortly after, Barnabas would find himself in the dreaded land of the boogies.
