All around the boogie palace the winter storm raged, flurries of snow and rain slamming against the walls and windows. It seemed as if thee clouds couldn't make up their minds as to what they wanted to ravage the helpless land with, switching from rain to snow every few minutes. There was one thing they agreed on though, and that was the fact that no one would sleep this night. Blinding flashes of lightning ripped through the sky, followed by earshattering clashes of thunder. A war wouldn't have created as much noise and chaos. Every so often the blinding bolts would come far too close to the castle, threatening to smash apart the building that stood in the way of the storm's fury.
Despite the fury, there was at least one still asleep, though it couldn't be said she was resting. Serenity was curled up atop her bed, cover thrown all across the room. It was obvious that she'd been flailing about in her sleep, but all she did at the moment was whimper as she clenched a smile bear to her chest. The small boogie girl was dreaming, and the dreams were far from pleasant. She was dreaming about the night her other half had first appeared, the night her life had fallen apart....
Serenity slowly opened the door to her brother's room, quietly stepping inside. "Umm...Gabriel?" She closed the door as he turned his head, a soft smile on his kind face. "What is it Serenity?" The girl faltered, hands toying with the laces of her dress. "I..I umm.....uh....." Something forced her forwards, even though she wasn't so sure she wanted to anymore. She seductively sauntered across the room, slinking onto his bed and up between his knees. Her talent was working at full capacity as she leaned in towards his face, but the older boogie merely raised his brow at her. "What is it?" She panicked. What was wrong?! Why wasn't it working?! What if he told their parents?! Or worse, what if he stopped loving her?!! At that moment her eyes shifted, and the aura around her turned cold. Gabriel glared at the new girl, instantly recognizing the change. "What happened to my sister?!?!" The girl just smirked, trailing her tongue up his neck and across his cheek. "Simply delectable..." His eyes widened in surprise at the coldness in her voice, an instinctive fear ringing through him. The boy's first notion was to flee, but before he could move an inch he found his arm tied to the bed. A few minutes later and he was fully secured, what had once been his sister crouching over him naked and smiling demonically. "Time for some fun..." The creature leaned down, savoring the taste as she bit through his shoulder. He eyed rolled back in her head, the boy screaming in pain as she---
"Gabriel!!!!!!!" Serenity sprang bolt upright, tears streaming down her face as she sobbed her brother's name. Panting in fear she glanced around hurriedly, expecting to see his corpse lying there. But there was nothing, she couldn't even see Erebos. Shivering in fear and cold she clang to her little bear, squeezing it as though it would take the memories away. Nothing ever would though, she'd be haunted by the demons as long as she lived. And unlike the humans, she didn't have the luxury of an expiration date. A bolt of light arced across just outside her window, followed by a massive thunderclap. The girl flinched, fear overtaking her. With only one thought in her mind she fled the room, pink cotton nightdress clinging to her heels as she ran. She didn't see the glowing pair of blood red eyes that glared at her as she fled.
Down the hall she ran, mind racing in fear. Every shadow seemed to hold some demon from her past, around every corner they lurked waiting to devour her. But somehow she made it through all of them, panting in fear and exhaustion as she stopped outside a door. Staring at it a moment she silently pushed it open, moving across the dorm to another door. Opening it she stepped inside, though no further than the doorway. "Zeke...?" Her voice was small and tiny as she looked around the room for her human, sounding altogether like a small child in distress. She flinched again as another thunderclap tore through the sky, the lighting silhouetting the small girl standing in the doorway with her bear, tears still streaming down her cheeks. Zeke......

Thunder and lightning...two less-than-finer points of snow storms. Now, Zeke wasn't usually one to mind this sort of weather, he found it quite intresting, if not slightly romantic. Kissing in the rain...how many love songs were there that included that? More than one could count and stay awake, that's for sure. And yet, despite it's lovely appeal to songwriters, this storm was rather annoying. Why? Because it wasn't letting Zeke get any sleep. And a sleep-deprived Zeke is not a good Zeke.
The blonde sighed, leaning against his window percuriously close to the ledge. He watched, and felt, the cool rain/snow/slush on his arms, staining his sleevless white nightshirt. Winds roared right along witht the thunder, and the slave playfully tried to grab the lighning as it struck down. Maybe he would have jumped out and gone to the roof to watch the storm. Maybe he would've tapped on Luke's window and said hi. Maybe, if his door hadn't opened right then, that's what would have happened tonight.
Zeke blinked, recognizing the voice in an instant.
"Miss Serenity...?" he turned his head absently, blue eyes bored, honestly not surprised by his misstresses arrival. She'd visited his room tons of times, even at this hour, normally with some ridiculous costume in tow or that other slave of hers, Sarah. He was half expecting her to push a kimono into his arms, but, as a huge flash of lightning lit up the room, he spotted the look on her childlike face. Oh. And the tears.
Saphire eyes widdened and he stepped back from the window, just in time for the thunder to catch up with the lightning.
"Misstress? A...Are you okay?"

"Miss Serenity...? Misstress? A...Are you okay?"
As soon as she heard that voice her eyes widened, immediately going towards the source of that heavenly sound. She didn't know why, and didn't care why for that matter, but the sound of Zeke's voice was the most perfect thing she'd ever heard in her life at that moment. Rushing to him she flung her arms around him, burying her face into his chest as her sobbing began anew. She could hardly breathe, yet she somehow managed to begin choking out the words. "I k-ki....Sh-she m-made me d-do it. I didn't want to, but she made me. She made me k-kill h-him."
No sooner had she choked out the words than she broke down again, tears streaming down her face as she sobbed and wailed into his chest. Every so often she'd start coughing, her tears impeding her ability to breathe. She was quite clearly torn apart, the boogie girl virtually out of her mind with fear and sadness. Why she had come to Zeke was anyone's guess. The boy did most everything he could to avoid her. If she cared to stop and think about it (which she didn't), then she might have reached the conclusion that he didn't like her. But tonight she didn't care if he liked her or not, she just needed to be with someone. Someone who could take the pain away.

Zeke had never really like watching others cry. He tried to avoid moments when his friends were close to tears, joking to get their mind off what was ailing them. Not once in three years had that method failed him. But he couldn't avoid this now. Not when Serenity, his mistress, the person he worked (dressed-up) for, was sobbing her eyes out. Zeke didn't try to push her away as she held him. He simply stood there, a sympathetic smile in his face.
He was being polite, being kind, as always. But it felt diffrent when it was Serenity. It felt more...real.
That again, huh...?
The blonde's smile lessened as Serenity broke down, burying herself into him. It wasn't the first time he'd heard her say that, about 'her' amking his mistress kill 'him'. Though he had no idea who 'him' was, he was very aware of who 'her' was. Zeke had been fourtunate enough to catch his sweet master turn into her sadistic other self on more than one occassion, all of which he kept strictly hidden from Serenity, who knew barley anything of her second soul.
All he could do was take her shoulders in his hands and steer her in the direction of a chair, ploping the crying girl down before kneeling in front of her. He gave her his signature warm smile, closing his eyes as he did so. "It's okay mistress. You had a bad dream, that's all. you can tell me about it, if it'll make you feel better."

"It's okay mistress. You had a bad dream, that's all. you can tell me about it, if it'll make you feel better."
She made no hint of resistance as he placed his hands on her shoulders, nor when he steered her across the room. Hearing him tell her it was ok, actually made her feel like it was. Even though it wasn't. And really she didn't want to talk about any of it, the only people that knew her bloodstained past were dead, although she didn't know it. But what she did know physically pained her to even think about. The only way she could make it through the day was by blocking it all away. But....this was Zeke. He'd been with her for years, and knew almost everything there was to know about Serenity. She could trust him, right?
And so she told him all of it, or at least all that she could remember. There was a period after her imprisonment that she couldn't remember, but whatever had happened during that period had gotten her out so she didn't mind. When she was done she sat still, the silence only broken by the occasional few sniffles. She could only hope that Zeke would understand, that he wouldn't hate her for what she'd done. Who knows, there was a possibility that he could know her parents, that he'd do the same thing that they had. But she didn't think he would, she trusted him implicitly. There was not another living soul left that she could trust fully, that genuinely cared about her. Zeke was her everything now, and he meant everything to her.

He took in everything like a sponge. Every moment she remembered, everything he hadn't known...it shocked Zeke to even imagine what had happened. At least now he had something to fill in the blanks in the story he knew so little about before. 'Him' was her brother, who her crazed other had murdered. 'She' was still namless to Zeke. But his mind was more focused on something else. How such a sweet, mostly innocent girl like Serenity could have gone through such torment...it was shocking. Maybe that wasn't the right word.
It was infuriating.
Zeke's large saphire eyes seemed wider than humanly possible as she finished, barley able to gasp let alone speak. It took him a while to gather his thoughts. Past or present, this was Serenity. He couldn't change how he felt about her just because of what her sadistic, murderous other had done. It just made her more...real. Not even the flawless Serenity was entierly perfect. And Zeke wouldn't change how he felt.
...how did he feel, anyway?
Raising one hand to hold the Boogie girl's, Zeke managed to smile again as a bolt of lightning lit up the room. It was weird, not his usual grin. It felt more natural. "Miss Serenity...I'm..." he started, but couldn't finish. What would he say?
Dammit, what can I say?

He held her hand, and she stared at him in shock. Zeke had never held her hand or even touched her for that matter, not voluntarily at least. Most of the time she had to force him to do everything if she wanted it done, yet here he was taking her hand in his own. It warmed her shattered heart a bit, and her tears stopped. For several moments she sat there staring at him, disbelief etched on her face. Then she leaned in and kissed him. Not the lusty, forceful type of kiss she normally gave though. This one was small, surprisingly sweet and innocent. It only lasted a moment and then she pulled away, her cheeks a bit rosy.

Zeke had finally thought of something witty to say, something that would make Serenity smile. And he was about to say it when he found his lips a bit frozen. Serenity's kiss didn't last long at all, but in that short moment, maybe only a couple seconds long, his cheeks went the shade of a cherry. Forget talking...he needed to remember how to breath all over again. Don't think it was because this was his first kiss, he'd already lost that. But this was Serenity. His mistress had kissed him.
And his heart was pounding in his ears. That had never happened before, not even from his first kiss. Zeke stared at her with blue gem eyes, gaping like a fish. She hadn't even used her talent on him...so...why...am...I...blushing?!
"Well, that was unexpected." He said calmly, a bit to calm for his face. His smile didn't reappear. It would take a moment for his head to de-fizz.

Much like Zeke, she herself was feeli ng to be a bit lightheaded. It wasn't the sort of lifghtheaded she got when she was tired or after she'd had a glass of wine, it was something different. Whatever it might be was enitrely strange, but she couldn't say it was unpleasant. In fact she rather liked it, it made her feel all warm and content. And that in and of itself was something odd. She was rarely truly happy anymore, and when she was it always came from sex or some of her wild antics. But now it was from something different, something altogether innocent. And she was truly happy, happier than sha had been in all her life. Even if hse didn't quite understand it.
When she saw the look on his face, her hands immediately flew over her mouth, face quickly glowing burning red. Her usually birght eyes were noticeably dimmer, fear once more prominent amongst the swirl of emotions. She knew that Zeke didn't like it when she came on to him, and he deffinitely didn't want her kissing him. She knew it full well, but she'd acted without thinking. Now she was afraid that he was going to get angry at her, that he was going to make her leave. She couldn't leave now, not after everything. She was terrified to return to her room, convinced that the nightmares would return as soon as she stepped through the door.
Her eyes fell to the floor, sadness filling them. She couldn't bring herself to even look at him right now. She was too afraid of what he'd say to her. "I'm sorry Zeke... I din't mean to..." She was lieing, lieing so badly that it almost made her sick. She didn't know why she did it, and she could honestly say that she didn't regret it, but she was just trying to tell him what she thought he wanted to hear. She didn't want him to leave her, she really cared about him, more than anyone other than Gabriel. It was odd how strong the emotion was, it was almost like...love. But that couldn't be right. ...could it?

"D-Don't apologize, mistress..." the blonde slave muttered, his thoughts clearing and falling into place. Serenity had kissed him. Okay. That was pretty obvious. It wasn't unlike Serenity to push herself onto him like that. But what had surpirsed him was that she'd pulled away so fast, and was now apoligizing for it. That didn't sound at all like the hypersexual mistress Zeke knew and...was accustom to. The blush on her face was very cute though, even he had to admit to that.
Hell, Zeke always knew Serenity was cute. It was impossible to not think that. It had been her constant advances that made him so distant towards her. But this innocent side of her...it wasn't that bad. He liked it. I really like it. And just to voice his opinion out loud, maybe even to himself, Zeke leaned up so he could peck Serenity right on the cheek.
So much for hating my master...

"D-Don't apologize, mistress..."
Don't apologize? Why shouldn't she? She'd done something that he hadn't wanted even though she knew he didn't. Sure it had been a bit of an accident, but she highly doubted that would matter to the boy. There were times that she had the sneaking suspicion that he didn't like her, but she always forced the thoughts away. It might be true, and then it might not, but she couldn't allow herself to think them either way.
When she felt his lips on her cheek her eyes opened as wide as they possibly could. She looked up, staring at him in disbelief. Ever so slowly she raised a hand to place her fingers on the spot, face as pink as her nightgown. "Zeke..." She simply couldn't believe it. Zeke had kissed her. Not once had she ever imagined him doing such a thing, not voluntarily at least. But he had, he'd done so with absolutely no prodding from her. To her mind it was a miracle of miracles.
For a moment she considered kissing him again, but she didn't want to press her luck. There was also the fact that she couldn't at them moment. The little boogie girl had begin giggling softly, tears of joy running from her eyes. She tried to wipe them away but they just kept coming, and so she resigned herself to keeping her hands firmly in her lap. She couldn't imagine being any happier than she was right now.

Zeke chuckled at the stunned look on Serenity's face. It was adorable, and such a charming shade of pink. How come he'd never noticed how cute she was before? Well, he had, but he'd never acted on his feelings. He forbid himself. But now that they were alone, and he'd seen her looking so lost and now so happy, Zeke could admit what he'd been hiding. He liked Serenity...more than any girl he'd ever met. And he was pretty sure she like him. All the flirty moments and odd 'innocent pevert' days must have meant something. Right?
She giggled, his grin doubled in size. He took both her hands in his, then moved to put his forehead to hers. "Ne, S...Serenity...chan?" It felt funny, saying her name with that honorific, since he'd called her 'mistress' for so long. "You need to stop blushing..." Zeke's voice lowered playully, "It makes you way to cute. I may have to kiss you again."

The honest truth? She did like him. No, it was more than that. She liked every human and boogie that she'd taken to her bed...or a closet. But it was different with Zeke. She didn't feel that overpowering urge to just screw him. For some reason beyond her understanding, she wanted with her for more than that. He was the only person, human or boogie, that she'd ever felt such a way about. To a certain extent it was a bit frightening, the newness and strangeness of it all. But the warmth she felt from it quickly overpowered such negative emotions.
"Ne, S...Serenity...chan? You need to stop blushing... It makes you way to cute. I may have to kiss you again."
Her blush only worsened, a soft smile playing across her childlike face. There was no way in the world she'd be able to stop now, not with the way Zeke was treating her. The way he was holding her hands, the way his forehead rested against hers....it was almost magical. It was as though he were a boogie using his talent to control her. Because at this moment, that's what had happened. She would do anything for him at this point, anything he wanted. That's why she didn't move to take his offer, he was in control. Serenity merely looked down and continued smiling, for once in her life appearing a shy and innocent child. "Th-that wouldn't be so bad. I-i mean if that's what you wanted..."

Talk about a role reversal. Since when did Serenity, the chibi-seme of Wonderland, ever act so submissive? Zeke would have laughed, were it not that he was rather liking this character change. He tilted his head, still keeping his forehead glued to his mistresses, giving her a sly smile. His blue eyes glistened with care, not lust, which must be new for his master. "I would like that, Serenity-chan."
So he kissed her again, pushing himself up from his kneeling position as he did so. This kiss was a little warmer and hungrier than the sweet, second-long one he'd gotten before, but it was still at a safe pace. The sense of dominance made Zeke's cheeks heat. He wasn't usd to being seme. Not that he didn't like it.

Zeke wasn't the only one enjoying his newfound control over the little boogie girl, Serenity rather liked it herself. It wasn't often that she was the one submissive one, and even though she wasn't being so by choice, she still thought it was nice. So nice in fact, that she began to think she might have to take the role with Zeke a more often, perhaps even permanently. It would definitely be strange, and would most likely be a bit hard, but at this moment she decided that she would do anything for Zeke. She could sense how much he enjoyed the switch and she could guess that it wasn't often that he had such an opportunity. And so she resolved to change herself for him, but only for him.
When he kissed her, her brain melted. All she could do was allow him to do what he wanted, only barely able to return the kiss. This was the absolute first time she'd found herself unable to do so, mostly because she was generally he one doing the kissing. But she could tell that something was different here, something she couldn't explain. Nowhere within her mind could she detect even a hint of lust. Instead there was something else, something that she had no knowledge of. She searched through everything she'd ever known to try and pin it down, but it was entirely foreign to her. But then her body identified it on its own, speaking the words so low that they were barely audible to her. "I love you..."
