Zeke started the kiss, so he had to end it. He pulled back, face still hot and cherry red. He didn't want to take this to far. Unlike his mistress, very unlike his mistress, Zeke didn't plan on rushing into anything. Instead, he held his gaze on her eyes. She really did look like a child when she was blushing. For a split second, Zeke felt like a pedophile...then he remembered she was actually somewhere over 8,000 and chuckled quietly.
He happened to catch her mumble something while he laughed to himself. It wasn't very clear, barley a whisper. Amazing how she could be loud enough to hear from down the hall, then quiet as a mouse at a mmoments notice. But he could swear he knew what she'd said. Sorta. He brought his hand up to press a finger to Serenity's lips. "If you said you love me, then...me too..." he pressed their foreheads together again, "...'daisuke'...I love you, mistress..."
((Daisuke = 'I love you'.))

She didn't want him to pull away from her, but she wasn't going to stop him, it wasn't her place. Little did Zeke know that she would go only as far as he made her go, and not a step farther. Gone were the days of her forcing herself on him, she vowed to never again do anything that he didn't want.
That only made her blush more, if that was even possible. She looked up at him, not daring to move her forehead away from his, and stared into his eyes. Her own were filled with what was clearly a fragile hope, small teardrops dancing on the corners of them. "Do you really mean it?" No one had said that to her, not since Gabriel had been murdered. He was the only one that had ever cared about her, but it had been different with him. His love for her had been that of a brother, but with Zeke... it was something more. He loved her, and not because she had tempted him to do so, or tricked him into it. He loved her for her, or at least that's what she hoped. And she could now truly say that she loved him as well.
Every so carefully she leaned her face forwards, still keeping her forehead connected to his as she gently rubbed her face against his. She didn't dare kiss him, not knowing if that was what he wanted from her. So instead she chose the innocent action, smiling softly all the while. After a few short moment she stopped looking back into his eyes once more. Yet again tears flowed down her cheeks, a loving smile on her face as she stared at the boy. "I love you Zeke, i really do." And believe it or not, she did.

"Of course I mean it. Does this look like the face of a liar?" Zeke's face morphed into a goofy smile, an attempt to make her laugh through her tears. And he did mean it. After three years of putting up with her crazy antics, only someone who was as loyal--or shall we say hoplessley devoted--as he was would have stuck by Serenity. He'd seen through it all, unable to pinpoint why until now. And finally putting his feelings out there like this only cemented it.
Her touch tickled his face, but he resisted the urge to move back and laugh. He didn't want to break this moment. Zeke matched her smile with one of his own, saphrie gaze reflecting her black ones. Serenity was so perfect...and she loved him. And he believed it, ever single word.
"That's good. Because I don't want anyone else."

If he'd been trying to make her laugh he'd succeeded, she began giggling softly at the look on his face. She'd never imagined that he... anybody, could care about her, especially like this. But he did, he loved her. She didn't know if she's ever be able to stop smiling, not knowing what she did now. It was just so...wonderful, the thought that someone cared about her. She was actually beginning to feel whole again, something she hadn't been since she'd lost Gabriel. That day she'd been broken, and had been wandering lost all the years after. But now, she felt that she was going to be alright, as long as she had Zeke.
She couldn't stop crying either, the joyful tears just kept coming. "Neither do I, I love you so much Zeke." At the exact instant the words came out, she felt a sharp pain shoot through her head. Her eyes shut as she winced, whimpering at the pain in her skull. She wasn't sure what it was, but it hurt. And in the back of her mind she could feel something welling up, something evil...and angry. She felt her body go cold, fear such as she'd never known overcoming her. Because in that unknown mass at the back of her mind, she could feel an intense hatred. Her body began to shake, her joy at her newfound love battling with the fear. She clenched her eyes shut, trying to block it all away. "Zeke..."

Zeke could tell something wasn't right. The instant he felt the air change, the look on Serenity's face confirmed it. She looked scared, terrified...and in pain. Three things Zeke did not want her feeling right now. But, as she closed her eyes, he knew who he was about to deal with. Serenity's less-than-innocent other side. And boy, judging by the circumstance, she wasn't gonna be very happy to see him.
It wasn't a first. Zeke'd met this 'other mistress' once or twice before. Allright, 'met' as in saw, noticed who it was, then ran for it...but met none the less. He knew what she was capable of. In a flash, he let go of Serenity's hand and stood up, taking a few steps back. Being close to her when she shifted was not a good idea. He felt powerless as she whimpered his name...his breathing harsh and his skin cold.
"M...Mistress...?"

Serenity was fighting hard to keep control of herself, for Zeke's sake. She didn't want him to be hurt, nor did she want what they'd had to end. And she found that if she focused on him and the love they shared, that she could beat back the encroaching fear. She was able to keep it at bay, and even force it down. Because she was fighting for Zeke, she was able to overpower the fear and was forcing it away. But then, just as she had almost regained total control, she felt his hand release hers. Immediately her eyes flew open, the fear taking the chance to return full force. Desperately she stared at him as he moved away, her eyes pleading for him to stay with her. He's leaving me... He lied.... Instantly the fear turned to despair, drowning out her mind and emotions.
Within moments the intense fear and sadness that had filled her eyes disappeared, being replaced by nothing. Charoa's eyes shown as black and empty as her soul, staring the boy down. Slowly she rose to her feet, glancing down as the small bear fell off her lap. For a moment she stared at it, before bending and picking it up. Again she stared, seeming lost in thought as her soft voice broke the silence. "This thing...." Her fist tightened, fingers mashing into the fear and puncturing its worn body. Then with a force that one would not believe from her small body she flung it aside, the bear slamming into the wall on the other side of the room.
She now turned her empty eyes on the human before her, any emotions she might have felt impossible to read. Slowly she moved towards him, bare feet silently moving across the floor. Her eyes were locked onto his, abysmal pits that pierced straight to his soul. It had been some time since she'd taken control, having had little desire to. But all the while she'd watched and listened, taking in everything that her little vessel encountered. And so she knew all too well of this ones feelings for the shell she inhabited, that was something she couldn't allow. "How dare you...." Her voice never raised, and never took on a tone that might belie an emotion. But it was because of this that it was so bonechillingly terrifying. It let him know that Charao was here, she was awake, and she was angry.

Zeke couldn't have known the change was partly his fault. It was a natural reflex for slaves to avoid trouble when they see it...and this person was big trouble. He didn't know that pulling back would only confirm Chaora's big entrance. How could he? This was the first time he'd actually seen her switch first hand. The blonde backed up more as she flung the bear against the wall. Serenity loves that thing...okay. She's definitely not herself anymore. His eyes went cold, just like his blood, as she got closer.
"Who are you? What have you done to Serenity?!" he hissed, sounding stronger than he felt. Finally he was getting two words in with this girl. He clenched his hands into fists, they were shaking, then stepped forward and took the Boogie's shoulders in his hands. He couldn't help it. He was angry at this person, whoever she was. She'd cause Serenity nothing but pain...it made him want to punch her. But she was still Serenity's body. He couldn't hurt her.
Talk about a rock and a hard place.

Charoa could have laughed at the look in his eyes, but laughter was not something she indulged in. Such things were meaningless to her, she sought only to feed on the darkest emotions of ones soul. That was exactly why she'd picked Serenity as her vessel, she had forseen that there was to be nothing but despair in the girl's life. But now here was this child, a frail little human, thinking that he could change all of that. Granted, if she left them be then that's exactly what would happen. Just as Serenity had, she could tell that this boy was exactly what the boogie girl needed to piece together her broken life. But she couldn't allow that.
At his words she paused a moment, brows raising imperceptibly. She'd heard those words before, many years ago. That time as well they had come from a boy, one who had loved the creature that formed her body. But that boy she had killed, and very much enjoyed doing so. His blood had been the sweetest nectar she had ever sampled, and she's sampled quite a bit. She was now curious as to what this one would taste like, whether or not he would match up. Whatever he tasted like was of no consequence, the memories his words brought up bringing a wave of sweet despair over her other's mind.
Then he grabbed her shoulders, and she almost smiled. The creature relished in his anger, in the hatred she could feel inside his core. It nourished her, and left her hungry for more. After a moment of savoring his fierce emotions she slowly raised her arm, fingers gently lacing themselves around his wrists. She stared into his eyes, allowing her own to flicker back to the despairing orbs of her other half. And then she gripped his wrist with a strength that could only come from being a monstrosity, her fingers digging into the soft flesh beneath them. "I am Your mistress, who else would I be?" She did so enjoy a nice bit of mental anguish mixed with just a dab of physical agony.

He saw it. That second when the cold, bottomless eyes became the ones he'd fallen into. In that second, a glimmer of hope shot through him...and was replaced with pain as her nails dug into Zeke's wrist. Damn, he knew Boogies were strong, but this was worse then anything. It hurt more than any injury he'd recieved before, and he got quite a lot over the years. He'd even earned a few from Serenity. But now...right after he admited he loved her...to have her hurting him like this?
This sucks.
Zeke yanked his hand from her hold, her nails trailing red marks in his tanned skin. He tch'd as some blood dripped down his wrist. That was gonna leave some scars. He glared at Serenity, or her alter-ego, and sneered. "You're not my mistress. You're that witch who lives in her." his other hand was still tight on her shoulder, now clenching hard enough that it would hurt a human. Probably wouldn't hurt her. Still, it was either that or smash her face...and he didn't want to do that. Not to Serenity.
But to this chick...who was she anyway?
"...what's you're name?"

She didn't stop him as she ripped his arm away, knowing that he was only injuring himself by doing so. For a short while she stared at him, blank and emotionless as ever. Yet soon enough she releases that there remained a few bits of blood atip her fingers. Raising them to her lips she slowly sucked the liquid off, reveling in the taste. He really did taste as sweet as the other boy had. To her knowledge they shared just one other thing in common, their love for her host. Perhaps that was what sweetened their life's nectar so, love. A foolish thing in her eyes, but perhaps something useful. If it could provide her with that she longed for, she might be able to let it thrive.... But no, she couldn't allow it, no matter what it might grant her. As much power as she held, especially over her host, she was not invulnerable. If she allowed the girl to become happy and whole, then they might be able to be rid of her. They could 'kill' her completely, no she wouldn't allow herself to fade, but they might be able to permanently force her into dormancy. And that she simply couldn't allow, she still had plans for this world, plans that she would see through even if it meant the death of her host.
The beast might have been amused at his words, if she were even capable of such a thing. A witch? Such juvenile insults. Yet she disliked the way he was gripping her shoulder, the boy was out of place. Not only that but she had come to see that if she didn't give him an answer then his battery of questions would never cease. And they were oh so tiresome. Her eyes narrowed at him a bit, her hand raising towards the arm holding her. She knew very well that he would draw it back, she'd seen that the boy was far from stupid. He was merely blinded by his pitiful affection for the girl. Yet again she locked her eyes with his, staring straight through him. "Charoa..." That was all he need know.

Was...Was she licking his blood? Zeke blinked, confusion and disturbance overridding fear for a second. Then he remembered something out of Serenity's story...her brother, Gabriel, was drained of blood when he died. It took him a second to look at his wrist before he pulled it behind his back and out of her view. He didn't want to become part two of that story. No way in hell. No vampire-Boogie was gonna kill him.
'Chaora'. Finally he got a name for Serenity's other half. But such a name...not really fitting. 'White lamb'. Cute name. He couldn't hide the grin that started on his face. Zeke's grip loosened and his hand fell to his side. His smile masked his fear and anger well, but his eyes were still terrified. "Well, as lovely as it is to get your name at last, Miss Chaora, I'd prefer Serenity." Better try polite-Zeke before attack-at-will-Zeke. "May I please have her back?"

Despite his meager attempts to fool her, she could quite plainly tell that he was terrified of her. She could could feel it in the air, could practically smell it the aroma of fear was so thick. It pleased her, fear was always such a delectable emotion. Yet there was no indication that she was happy or otherwise. The only thing that one might possibly be able to read from her, and there was a very slim chance of that, was hunger. She desired to feed, and the small amount of negative emotions she was picking up from the boy was barely enough to whet her appetite. She needed more, and she needed it soon.
At his words she stepped forward, not stopping until she was directly before him. He was quite a bit taller than her, which she detested, but she felt that she could get her point across nonetheless. "No, you may not. Cast aside what feeble feelings you might have for that girl little human, she will not be here long. The girl is nothing more than a vessel for me, and when i am done with her she will be cast aside, just as you will in time." perhaps that would entice a bit more of that lovely rage and hatred from the frail being.

Zeke's terrified eyes went stone cold as Chaora stepped closer. What was her game? Get him pissed off? Well, it was working. His mask stayed in place though, eyes closing as he grinned at the Boogie formerly known as Serenity. "Well, feeble as they might be to you, I won't throw my feelings away." He stepped away from her to pick up the bear in the corner.
"Sorry if I'm a nusance to you, but I said I love my mistress, and your vessle or not, I still do." The human held the bear to his chest, just as Serenity had when she'd come to his room. Zeke's fear was still on high, but flickers of compassion echoed in his eyes. He looked to Chaora and his smile became more serious. "And Serenity will not be cast aside. Not as long as I have a pulse."
...lets hope she doesn't take me up on that.

The girl made no move as the boy walked away from her, not particularly caring what it was he was up to. He was afraid, that much she was certain of. Try as he might to hide it from her with that mask, she knew better. Her other half had spent so much sickening time together with him that she could easily tell what he was feeling behind that same old facade of his. But then he had to go and pick up that accursed bear. She actually wrinkled her nose as she stared at it. That thing...she despised it. Despised it because it was one of the very few things she couldn't be rid of. Most things Serenity became attached to she could just take over and toss aside. But there were a few small things that she couldn't do so too, because the disgustingly sweet other half of her was far too emotionally attached to them. To cast them aside would mean the girl would waste away, and she couldn't let that happen. Not yet at least.
As hard as it may seem to believe, the boy's last words had piqued her interest, something that hadn't happened in centuries. She knew all too well of these creatures capacity for courage when something they foolishly cared for was threatened, but this was one of the few times she'd experienced it first hand. It was an intriguing concept, one that she thought she might be able to play rather well for her own benefit. She turned towards him, raising her eyebrows a bit, yet giving no indication of her intent. "And you think that you can save her? Tell me slave, just how much to do really care about that pathetic creature?" Now to see how smart the boy really was. If he supplied her with the answer she desired, and was extremely lucky, then he just might be able to save the girl from her grim fate. Maybe.

Zeke held the bear tighter to his body, his smile warm and open. Serenity loved this thing to death. He could recall more than one 'incident' when he had to sit next to it during a tea party. As humiliating as those moments were, Zeke couldn't help but find some solace in those weird days...when he was forced to crossdress and dance around like a dolly. It made Serenity laugh though. Maybe that was why he put up with it all.
"I care about her more than any living creature on this planet." He closed his eyes again. "I was being an idiot, pretending I hated her, but what can you do? I'm stuck to her, good or bad, cosplay and crazy...this is true love..." Zeke gave Chaora a truly warm grin, breaking the calm mask slightly, "You think this happens everyday?" He laughed, like a bell chime, throwing the bear up and catching it in his arms. True love. Yeah. That was what I feel for her.
