Appearance:
Beata is a rather average looking human to say the least. She is rather short, standing at roughly only a little over five feet. Most of the Boogies in Wonderland are substantially taller than her although this doesn’t really affect her at all. Due to her sickness she is quite underweight, being only one hundred and fourteen pounds. Her appearance at a glance is usually quite sickly and ungainly. Her skin is pale and sometimes looks almost grey or green in appearance. Her wrists are very thin as well as the rest of her arms and body. She is quite malnourished and is a sad sight to behold. On her sickly thin neck she can usually be found wearing a blue rose necklace as this is the only thing that she has to remember her past by. Her mother gave it to her when she was younger and she hardly ever takes it off.
She is lucky enough to have a very distinct hair colour, that being a dull shade of orange. Her hair is quite long and is always worn up in two pig tails on either side of hair head. These pig tails usually hold on them ribbons which are of various colours. Most of the time these colours display her mood for the day. When she is having a rather bad bout of sickness she wears grey and that seems to be most of them time. Rarely will you see her walking down the street with bright yellow ribbons on for no one has seen her smile in quite some time. Her eyes are dull silver blue which hold in them much emotion and sadness. She often wears various different styles of clothing though her most worn outfit is a grey and white school uniform style outfit. It seems to fit her mood quite well and you can usually see her wearing this.
Personality:
Beata suffers from a disease known as ulcerative colitis. Because of this she is often dehydrated and suffers from bouts of anaemia too. She also suffers from intense abdominal pain which renders her bedridden quite often. Due to this her skin often has a greyish hue to it and she is very thin and sickly looking. She is very weak because of this and has little strength to do simple tasks. She doesn’t really mind this too much as she is rather used to it however sometimes she doesn’t realise just how weak she is and will try to do something which just makes her condition even worse. Because of this she also has to take laudanum which is opium. It is heavily addictive and this often worries Bee that she too will become addicted to it.
Occasional side effects of the laudanum are a dream like feeling, kind of like a hallucinogenic gives you. Beata often finds herself daydreaming about the strangest things and sometimes she cannot even recall what she did all day. This is just another reason why she hates taking laudanum and often she just doesn’t take it altogether which makes her condition worse. She is very shy and skittish around other people, often hunching over to make herself seem smaller and more insignificant. She is very quiet and doesn’t really talk much. Because of this people don’t think too much of her but if you really got to know her you would find she really is a sweet person.

How Their Life Is / Was

Mother: Sarah Colline Hanson (nee Jones) // 44 // Teacher
Sibling/s: None
History: Beata was born to a wealthy family in Dorset, England. It was a small town and everyone there knew everyone else. Beata’s parents called her their miracle child as Sarah had been told she would not be able to have children. She was so happy when she received a beautiful daughter and named her after her own mother. It was a pretty name too and the young girl loved it. She grew up knowing everyone in the small town and all of the children seemed to get along well. It was when she was three years old that disaster struck. She was playing with some of her friends in the playground when all of a sudden a large pain struck her abdomen. She could feel it constricting and at the same time it felt as though her heart had stopped working. She was rushed to hospital where it was announced that she had ulcerative colitis. She was bedridden for the next few weeks and her parents were saddened by this news.
Although she often had days when she felt perfectly fine, Beata was made to stay in bed. She could no longer go outside and play with her friends which just made her feel even worse. She started to become withdrawn and instead comforted herself by reading books. However due to the laudanum she had been prescribed, she often forgot what had happened in the paragraph before and often found herself reading the same line over and over again in her head. It annoyed her so much. Often she would forget a whole day of her life and she hated it. She just wanted to get outside and have an adventure. She wanted to play with the other children at school instead of being home-schooled. It simply wasn’t fair. Her parents didn’t understand. And they never would have the chance to.
At the age of eight the Boogie came for her. He came out of her closet in the darkness and whispered sweet things in her ear. Telling her that she would never feel sick again if she went with him, that he was taking her to Wonderland. Bee was young and believed the Boogie, unaware of the true dangers that lay ahead. She arrived at her new home and instantly was put to work. The next eight years of her life were spent either in bed or working. Somehow the Boogie’s had gotten their hands on laudanum and often forced it down her throat when she wouldn’t agree to take it. Beata just hopes that with all the rebellion sparking up something will be done about this hell and she may just be able to get out. Maybe she’ll strike up the courage to join the rebels. But anything can happen here.
Roleplaying Sample: The sun was just starting to creep over the horizon and bring light to the world. The orange hue of the sky was a rather pretty sight to look upon. The light was starting to shine through the tattered curtains and as it did, fell across the girl’s eyes. Moaning she rolled over onto her stomach and tried to ignore the light. Some of the other people in her dorm were starting to get up but she just didn’t have the strength to. She could hear them moving around and preparing breakfast, each action seeming louder than it would have at any other time of day. Beata noticed someone move towards the table beside her bed and place something down on it. She heard a feminine voice murmur something but didn’t quite catch the words. Looking up she saw the little glass on the table filled with a golden liquid. “No,” she muttered to herself, shaking her head.
Rising slowly of her bed she felt a sharp pain strike her abdomen and clutched it with her arm. Shaking her head once more she leaned over and grabbed the glass. Throwing it all down her throat at once she seemed hardly affected by the bitter taste of the laudanum. Of course, she was used to it by now anyway. After years of taking the drug the taste was barely noticeable to her tongue. She swung her legs to the floor and tried to ignore the pain as she walked to the small closet in her room. Pulling out the first thing she could find – a pink and white floral top and jeans – she threw them on and headed straight for the door. She needed to get out of there and fast. She simply couldn’t stand being in that room a minute longer.
Walking hastily through the small streets she headed for the one place she knew would be more or less safe for her. The Crimson Woods weren’t too far away and she got there just as the sky was turning back to its normal shade of blue. The woods were quite beautiful, unless of course you were a human. It just seemed like a kind of sanctuary, nothing much at all really. As she walked up to one of the strange hanging dolls another pain hit her hard and she crumbled onto the floor moaning. The pain ran right up her abdomen and constricted her lungs, making it hard to breath. Evidently the laudanum had not yet started to take effect. Beata rolled into a ball, whimpering softly, her hand clutched across her stomach. Someone would come…hopefully.
