Talent: Metal Manipulation
What Does It Do?: Genevieve’s talent allows her to excite metal at the atomic and molecular level, permitting her to move various pieces of metal around her without actual physical contact to accomplish some task. As she is young, she can’t control very large items for very long, maybe around an hour or so until she rests, but she mostly uses it to make her various contraptions. Gene can also use her ability to animate the small toys she makes, as well as use it to transport the metal she collects but isn’t strong enough to carry.
With her gift, she can skip the welding process as well, making the metal structures fit together on a molecular level instead of using heat that may prove faulty, but she will often weld anyway because she like the thick bands that are produced from the act.
A good example of a use of her ability is when she is making some various random thing she always busies herself with, and a nut rolls out of its container and either rolls or floats over to her and sets itself on whatever bolt it goes to, and begins screwing itself in place while she attends to measuring something else out.
When she is angry, metal structures tend to bend, contort, and compress as she doesn’t have complete control of it just yet. Also, sometimes when she means to do one thing, something else happens for the very same reason as previously stated.

Appearance:
Genevieve is pretty causal about her appearance and doesn’t often mind being covered with dirt and oils. She’ll often wear a pair of beige pants and a white shirt, she really doesn’t care about getting her clothes dirty. But she makes sure that she can get them clean. The steampunk teen also tends to randomly dress up every once in a while. When she does, she wears elaborate dresses with lots of folds and a corset for dramatic effect. Her attire consists of a lot of browns, golds, and rust colored objects. As for jewelry, she often has rings of washers or the random contraptions she made. (Many of the female boogies seek her out for jewelry and broaches, as she is very skilled at making it, but doesn’t often wear it herself)
Her cheeks are spotted with little brown freckles and she is rather easy to blush. Being skinny and tall, she tends to look a little awkward standing next to those her own age. Often times she is also mistaken for a human by the boogies that don’t recognize her and will often try to command her into doing things for them. Genevieve’s long hair is usually tied behind her head in a thick band that way it doesn’t get in her way as she works, but when she dresses up to look nice she goes all out and curls it, or wears it in a complicated updo.
Personality:
Genevieve is a VERY curious person. If you know something she doesn’t or are doing something she doesn’t understand every mechanic too, she’ll ask you questions until the cows come home. She also loves to show people her work and tell them about the things she had to do to make it just like it was .Of course, she tries not to be annoying, but she gets very excited when learning new things. Though she is generally kind hearted, she tends to be pretty even keeled towards the treatment of humans. She would never kill one or harm one herself, even if in one of her random fits of rage, but she could, somewhat, easily sit through the dismemberment of a living human being without too many repercussions. But if you harm one of her familiars, you’d better be ready to face the consequences.
There is one single occasion she can really remember where she didn’t have any control of her gift what so ever. One day she was lost in the manor, having recently moved in, and a group of humans were doing something for one of their masters, and they thought she was another human that wasn’t doing what she was supposed too. She had only taken Rusty out that day with her, and he had been resting on her hat as they traveled, and they had been having a lovely conversation when they were assaulted. The man had accused her of stealing the nice clothing she was wearing, as well as the ‘toy’ that was resting on her hat, so in retaliation, the bitter human grabbed the smallest, weakest jellyfish and slammed him in the wall before she’d had time to react. The man started to walk over to where little Rusty had landed so he could stomp on him, but the jellyfish was using whatever little bit of energy he had to float to safety.
The man looked at the thing in confusion before he looked back up to her, and the look on her face stopped him from going anywhere else. Her eyes were no longer blue, but every bit of them, whites and all, were glowing a bright bronze color and her face was pulled back in an angry sneer, and it was then that he realized he kinda sorta effed up. The girl reached out and then after a few seconds, she jerked her hand back towards her body. The humans watched in terror as silver started leaking slowly out of the mans pores and into her waiting palm. She was stealing every type of metal and metal alkaloid out his body that he had. From the small amounts in each cell, to the atomized little bits he had everywhere else, she claimed it all. They stood there and watched as she slowly died, each cell shutting down on its own from lack of an essential building block. She told them he probably had enough time to say goodbye to his friends before he expired. She then used the mass of metal she collected to fix up Rusty, it took her a month of extensive work before he was back to himself. Whatever metal was left from the repairs she now wears in her ears and around her neck as a very thin chain.
Eager to please the older adults, she’ll often spend days making something the person of her current admiration will find useful or beautiful. Though normally a happy person, she does have her darker and angrier boogie side that she inherited from her dad. When she gets like this, she’ll go into her workshop and into her somewhat secret room and just destroy everything she touches. The girl will tap into her gift and compress giant bars of metal that she has smuggled in from the human realm and throw them around, breaking things and being destructive until the burst of hateful energy is gone. These bouts often leave her very sad for some reason, and she is often difficult to console.

How Their Life Is / Was
[/color]Father: Robert Aroris -Eaten
Mother: Jakyln Aroris –Presumably eaten
Sibling/s: McKinley Aroris –Brother, vanished
Familiars: Her familiars have been deemed rather useless by the rest of the boogie community, and because they’re mechanical and not of a spirit realm or animal figure, there is a good deal of gossip that she may be some devil human/boogie spawn, even though that is genetically impossible. What everyone fails to realize, is that both she and her familiars are very young, and so she doesn’t know the potential that they could have in the future. But, each of her familiars are mechanical jellyfish. The only real difference between them, aside from size which ranges from two inches (including tendrils) to one and one half feet long, is the color of each of the jelly’s eyelets and elemental configuration or little thing they can do.
Gustav is the longest of the seven at one and one half feet long, but he tends to pull his thick chain tendrils up so that they won’t get caught on things or be pulled by other boogies that are malicious and rude. He has two eyelets stationed on the cap of his body and they are a bright red color. He generally stays in her workshop organizing and staying out of the way. He is the least adventurous of the lot.
Abigail’s three eyelets are a lovely sunset orange hue and is a little under 11 inches long, she seems to get along better with Gustav than she does any of the others. Abigail is the Swiss army knife that everyone needs. Each of her tentacles has a different tool attacked to the end of them. One is the end of a flat head screwdriver, another is a wrench, another is a measuring device for gears, the list goes on. If the jellyfish finds a tool that she thinks Gene might find helpful, she'll agitate the girl until she attaches it to her.
Maria sits at nine inches and is the electrician of the seven. Little gears inside her cap turn with a generator to allow a flow of electricity to go throughout all her many tendrils. This is useful, considering she has the most tendrils out of any of the others, and is often shocking her brothers and sisters and then spinning around Genevieve to hide as they chase her. She can control a charge anywhere between a few single volts that are just big enough to cause a shock, to being able to knock out a few grown human. Her three bright yellow eyelets can also be used as a flashlight when she builds up her charge and redirects the energy there.
Geoff is just over seven inches long. He has the largest cap of the rest of the jellyfish and this is because it is absolutely covered in glass green eyelets. There are nine eyelets all around him, all of different sizes. This jellyfish is the recorder of the group, capable of recording images and audio, being able to later project them into a moving image, much like what the humans call a video projector. He is very active and often zooming around with his twin Jericho and is the only one of them that is capable of “speech.” Geoff has gone around collecting audio clips and has put them together for very short audio segments to reply to Genevieve.
Jericho, Geoff’s ‘twin,’ is just under seven inches long and unlike Geoff’s many eyelets, he only has one large eyelet and it is a lovely deep shade of amethyst. Jericho, like Maria, is able to form fire due to a generator located in his cap. But on his underbelly, he stores small pockets of flammable gasses which he can filter through the tube like chains that are inside the decorative chains. After being filtered through the tubes, the gasses go through a control system and with a quick flick of two other tendrils; he creates a nice controlled flame that Genevieve uses for welding, or to create decorative pieces on her inventions. He is capable of producing 3 flames at one time, but normally only uses one so to keep a good storage of gasses (Or to be silly, mostly to be silly) He and his twin are the trouble makers of the lot, along with their sister Maria.
Lilly's four eyelets are turquoise blue and she hovers at five and a half inches long. This gentle mechanical jellyfish is the most chill of the ones that travel with Gene and functions as a gatherer, as well as a check for measurements. She keeps her eyes open for metals whenever she is out and about with the others. She has a pouch she can lower from her inside cap that allows her to gather up small pieces and things that she finds, mostly nuts and bolts and the like. She also helps Genevieve make sure that her calculations and measurements are correct and she reminds Gene of the various plans she’s made and assists in keeping her on track on her projects.
Rusty, at 2 inches and is just too darn cute. The poor thing was created simply because she has an issue with even numbers and wanted seven jellyfish instead of six. Another issue she was faced with was that she only had enough good material for six, and she preferred seven to five anyway. So, she dug until she found the least rusted bit of metal that she could, and some chains from necklaces and whatever else she could find to make little Rusty. As the runt of the group he can’t really do much of anything, but he tries so hard! Whenever Lilly or Gustav are sent to fetch something, Rusty will try to help and grab the heaviest thing he can, which is usually a bolt. Since his accidental creation, Genevieve has made him his own pair of goggles for him and he rarely leaves the workshop without them connected to his cap somehow. They cover his two little eyelets perfectly Whenever the group is out and about he will sit on her hat because he can’t travel as fast as the rest and has gotten lost before.
All the jellyfish are capable of communicating to each other and to Genevieve.
History:
Genevieve had a rather easy childhood, uneventful. She and her family lived outside of the boogie manor castle thing, as she had always called it, and on their own little plot of land in the Crimson Woods. She’d had several human friends as she was growing up and was always sad when someone would end their lives because they had made a simple mistake or something. It was very unfair. She’d even gone so far to remedy this issue by asking her mother to get her a human child to be friends with, but her mother had instead told her a story of a little boogie child that was wandering around in the woods one day and got lost. She cried and cried and cried, but no matter what she did, she couldn’t find her way home. Later that night, after the sun had set, she found a hole in a tree to hide from all the mosters that look for little children to eat at night and wished beyond wished she could find her way home.
Suddenly, instead of being in darkness, she was surrounded by a bright light and was being thrown around by some monstrous creature. The creature told her she would never find her way home ever again, never see her mom or dad or older brother, and she would never learn what her talent was, and she would never ever have a familiar to talk to. The idea scared Genevieve so bad, she cried at the end and asked why she would tell her such a story, and her mommy told her that was what happened to humans every time a boogie went to find a slave. That was what the boogies did to children, and to their families. So Genevieve promised that day she would never have a slave of her own ever.
The day she made her familiars was both the worst day of her life, and the worst day of her life… her mechanical jellyfish were created much by accident, as she was just goofing around in what she referred to as her lab, making things. The girl had recently witnessed pictures from the human world out of one of the human’s books called a jellyfish and she wanted to make some. They seemed like wonderful creatures, beautiful little things that could float in the water like a bird in the sky! She pulled from whatever materials she had found and went crazy making things.
As she worked, she developed a headache, a terrible monstrous thing, but she kept working, her excitement pushed her forward into working into the wee hours of the morning. After she had finished all seven of them, Genevieve’s headache worsened. She then decided it was time to go to bed and continue in the morning, but as she picked up her work, she received a terrible shock from each of them, as if they were electrified. But, after she picked up the one that was to be called Gustav, her headache got better, and it continued to get better after each shock. Though the pain of each shock intensified with each jellyfish, she brought herself to touch all seven, even the littlest and rustiest one.
When she finally woke in the morning, there were seven little jellyfish floating above her, somehow. In her excitement, she screamed out and her mother and father rushed into the room to see what was wrong. They knew instantly what the things were, and proceeded to explain to her that she had found her familiars, and that after hearing her side of the story, determined it to be connected to her gift. They tested things out, and assured that she had a gift manipulation over the periodic metals. Though, these animations, wouldn’t end. She was ecstatic.
Later that day though, when her brother returned from wherever he’d been, she, in her young mind, didn’t notice that not only was he angry, but he was covered in blood, and from the amounts, whatever it was hadn’t walked away. She showed him her new jellyfish but he’d ignored her and stormed off to do whatever it was that big brothers covered in blood did, and she huffed and stormed outside to play with her new friends. Only when her parents came flying out of the house while following her brother did she start paying attention. She followed behind at a bit of distance, regarding the warnings of her jellyfish, which suddenly seemed agitated.
They ran off deeper into the woods, and Genevieve feared she would get lost. Then they arrived at the Labyrinth of all places. As a child, she couldn’t understand what was happening, but she watched anyway as her parents pleaded with her brother about something. They all looked at the mouth of the maze for a moment, when some devilish creature appeared from the bowels of the hell itself. She watched as her father jumped in front of her mother and was struck down by the animal, and her brother ran away. Genevieve was frozen in place long enough to watch her father be violently torn to shreds and eaten by the thing, and she ran away as fast as she could back into the depths of the forest.
To her extreme terror, she got lost and hide to hide in the hole of a tree, like in her mother’s story. She didn’t get a single wink of sleep, but she had the jellyfish there to keep her company, and keep her safe. With the help of Geoff, who had the foresight to record as they were running all about, helped them backtrack, avoiding any sight of the maze, and back to her home. The girl gathered up as many things as she could and headed for the manor that everyone kept talking about. Since then she has gathered up all of her family belongings and moved them to her place in the North Wing. They even set her up with her very own workshop where she could build things!

(Very general idea for the jellyfish appearance, think bigger though, and the eyelets aren't just around the base.
